From pulling off the road into Talbenny cottages we had high hopes, it is set in a beautiful landscape and from the outside the cottages are picture perfect; when we entered Tree we were not disappointed at all, the cottage is so cosy and a perfect get away whatever the reason.
Everything is beautifully maintained and the attention to detail is second to none, the owners clearly take great care and pride in the cottages.
We did not want to leave and will definitely return as soon as possible!
On entering the cottage our first impression was of a stale smell and the overall shabbiness of the interior. On further inspection we were shocked at the state of the bathroom with black mold, rusted shower and toilet fittings. The drawers in the bedroom were coming apart and stained and the bed linen was faded and looked like it was over twenty years old. The cups and cutlery were stained and not properly cleaned. We next viewed the shared area housing a washing machine and freezer. We were horrified at the condition of the freezer as it was covered in rust on the door and the top. The cottage needs completely refurbishing throughout. We did not stay one night in this cottage and promptly booked into a hotel in St Davids and returned home the following day
