“A little gem in beautiful Aude”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

Chez Dyna is a little gem! With our mixed schedule we were lucky enough to stay in both L’Ancienne Forge and all three bedrooms in this beautifully restored house. We cannot decide which room we preferred – the exquisite Grégoire with its stunning views, the spacious Chapron with its fabulous shower or the decadent Corbieres which is enormous.... this is a lovely home that you are privileged to share with the equally lovely owners Geoff and Lin – and we haven’t even mentioned the relaxing and convivial breakfasts in the beautiful garden. Arrange an evening meal too, Lin is a great cook and the wine just keeps on coming.

We satyed at Chez Dyna for 2 nights as a midway stop between St Emillon and St Remy. A great place to stop - a tiny village at the end of a beautiful drive. Fabulous hospitality and a lovely room. Breakfast was perfect, complete with fresh figs from the next door neighbour. Geoff was very helpful in recommending an itinerary to ensure we saw the best of the area. Word to the wise - beware of the pub across the road ...... very difficult to leave sober .... great people, fantastic food ( try the confit duck) and one of the best nights we had on our trip.
Certainly recommend Chez Dyna to anyone travelling this way looking to stay somewhere off the usual path.

My wife and I spent a really enjoyable two weeks here in July. The property itself is most attractive and very well fitted out. It's in a quiet location-which suits us. There is plenty of interest in the area but it was also enjoyable to stay in for part of most days or walk around the village. The sitting area outside the kitchen door is a real boon.
One of the reasons we went to that part of France was to have a high chance of hot and sunny weather and we were not disappointed! There wasn't a drop of rain in the two weeks.
The owners live in a beautifully restored house where they run a B & B a few yards away and could not be more helpful.
One suggestion is to ask Geoff about getting from A to B in the area rather than relying completely on a satnav which might take you on the shortest route but one that is needlessly tricky!
We're certainly happy to recommend Chez Dyna though you will need the use of a car.

My wife and I stayed in the Chez Dyna Cottage for a few nights in June. It was really intended to be just a stopover on our way across to the south coast of France, but we were really pleasantly surprised by our choice.
The cottage was truly beautiful and very tastefully furnished and decorated, with all facilities and comforts needed. The bedroom and ensuite upstairs are idea for a couple and the kitchen very easy to work in. All the little extras such as oil, salt, dishwash liquid, etc were there to make a travellers lot easier. The welcoming bottle of wine was most appreciated.
The living room adjoining the kitchen/meals area had a very comfortable sofa in front of a big TV. We had a rainy day that we used as 'downtime' to catch-up with a dvd or 2 and drink some fine wine.
The hosts/owners are very friendly and available to assist with any query, and in terms of location, it's very easy to get in/out of the town and reach areas such as Carcassone, Toulouse, and the Cathar route.
As an aside, there is a very cute and inviting bistro run by Welsh ex-pats (La Galloise) across the road where again you will be made to feel very welcome. We can highly recommend this too.

What a pleasure it was to stay at Chez Dyna. It felt like visiting close relatives, rather than lodging at a Guesthouse. Geoff and Lyn made us feel like home, welcoming us with open arms, and one regretted having only booked two nights with them. I have already recommended Chez Dyna to many of my friends that would like to visit the Languedoc region. I intend to return myself in the near future, and I will most certainly look forward to stay with Geoff and Lyn again. In fact they should be awarded for the ultimate customer service.

We were a group of 13 on a choir tour of the Aude area, and were lucky enough to be put in contact with Geoff and Lyn at Chez Dyna. Being late June we had superb weather in which to enjoy the beauty of Lyn's garden, where we took our fantastic breakfasts of fresh fruit, juice, yoghurt, various croissants, fresh baguette and tea or coffee. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated in the old French style, and we enjoyed extremely comfortable beds and amazing views from our room Le Gregoire. Some of our number stayed in the Gites which was bright, modern, well-equiped and spacious. The village is quiet but Chez D is only a step away from the Cafe Galloise where you can find a good menu and excellent wine etc, also lots of fun and chat with Les and Lin. We highly recommend Chez Dyna if you happen to be in the Alaigne/Carcassonne area.

Room Tip: Ask for the Gregoire for beautiful views over the garden and countryside, listen to the birds......
