I'm lucky and live very close to O'Gralha and through the years it has come to stand out as my absolute favourite much thanks to the excellent food and fair prices. Service is great and friendly. If you only go here once I would recommend going on a Sunday and chose either Javali (fantastic!) or leitao (not javali but also great). It's definately worth an extra mile for those of you who don't live in beautiful Vale Fuzeiros.

As regular client we always go on different days as the menu changes with a choise between 3 dishes for lunch. Our preferences for now are tuesday for the suckling pig and friday for a fresh grilled fish but if we have unexpected visit another weekday, we like the chicken piri priri, rabbit or the skewers. As wine is to recommend the cool sparkling white wine from the tap.
The price for these "dishes of the day" is since years fixed on 8 Euro (about 7 $) including olives, butter and bread, the mean dish, half bottle or jar per person and a huge choise between delicious desserts. Since January the VAT rose 10 % for restauration, but the price and quality is still the same here.
Very positif point here as well is that Rui treats the residents and tourists in the same way. The portions for the locals are not bigger or better.
At dinner time the restaurant, one can eat also the dish of the day or "a la carte" if there is nothing left from lunch. It happens regularly because the restaurant is always very crowdes. No question of crisis here.

This is a restaurante we have visited many times and would always recommend. Good food, a lovely atmosphere, simple and welcoming. In summer the views are great. Rui is especially helpful. It is a good idea to get his advice as sometimes there is a special dish available, cooked in a traditional way or with special ingredients. Excellent value.

This restaurant is a bit out of the way (for us it was the closest to our villa). It is very traditonal. We were a party of 9. Tha food was very good. If we were staying for more than a week we certainly would have returned. The first time we tried to eat here it was a night they did roast suckling pig and we couldn't get a table. Be warned, it may be out of the way but it is popular especially with the Portugese. The cost of the meal surprised us by how cheap it was. Really liked this resraurant.
