The gite and it's surroundings were beautiful, and so peaceful and relaxing. There are lots of pretty towns to visit nearby. We were very lucky to have good weather too. A perfect family holiday.
This is a very pretty converted stone barn in a peaceful and quite stunningly beautiful setting. It really is as good as it looks in the photographs. We just missed the sunflowers, but the view was still wonderful and we all miss looking out on it in the mornings. The sunsets and night skies were fantastic as well.
We did test the facilities to the limit with a group of 14 adults. Some ingenuity was required on the part of the cooks to produce breakfast, lunch and a three course evening meal for all, but we did manage. Lesley promises a larger fridge for next year, which would be great.
The property is very well maintained and was immaculately clean. We loved the open plan layout, which meant no one ever felt excluded or shut off from whatever was going on.
It’s a great area, with a wide range of activities to suit everyone. We had a fantastic time, finding something different to do every day.
Lesley and Toby were lovely and always available without being obtrusive in any way.
As a group we have holidayed in France for many years now and this was definitely the best place we have stayed at yet.
What an absolute gem of a place. A jewel tucked away in a peaceful corner of France. Grange Lapin offers outstanding views with a fabulous pool and patio and beautiful accommodation. The location is peaceful with some wonderful wildlife spotting at dusk and great starry skies. Lots to see and do in the area. Lovely spacious gite, all bedrooms on the large side, with plenty of bathrooms and great for a large party. Very well appointed with some creative furnishing ideas. A great holiday for kids and adults alike. We will certainly be returning to this stunning part of France. An absolute must! I can’t recommend highly enough.
We walked in to this beautifully converted, spacious and comfortable gite and all 9 of us went ‘Wow!’ We said it again as we opened the door leading to the outside eating/barbecue area and saw the lovely clear pool and the stunning views; made all the more special by the endless fields of freshly bloomed sunflowers.
There were 9 of us. The three couples had lovely clean, comfortably and considerately furnished bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms/toilets. The three older teenage boys opted to share a room and had the ‘family’ bathroom to themselves. We didn’t even use 2 other bedrooms. There was also a handy downstairs toilet. Though the water, we were told, was heated only twice a day we never ran out of hot water in spite of frequent showers, and the water-pressure was excellent.
We hired bikes, which was easy to do online. Though everyone was so happy around the pool and relaxing in the house, the bikes didn’t get a lot of use.
We popped to the supermarket in nearby Montmoreau every morning to buy delicious fresh baguettes and croissants for breakfast. Who knew there were so many types! It is an excellent supermarket. There was a little bakers but sadly it was closed for a couple of weeks whilst we were there.
We had lovely day trips out to Cognac, Angouleme and Aubetterre-sur-Dronne, with it’s amazing underground church: even the teenage boys found it interesting.
But mostly we enjoyed time together in and around this lovely spacious well-equipped gite.
The views are stunning, we were blessed with the sunflowers coming into bloom, the pool was great, though a tad chilly even in 35 deg heat, The Gite is perfectly set up for entertainment of a large group, whether inside or out. The local town is 10 mins away with Supermarket and good facilities, the local villages have a great assortment of good quality restaurants and bars. Lesley & Toby (Owners) are a great source of local knowledge.
One suggestion would be a 2nd fridge, as the Gite sleeps 12+ and sometimes the capacity of the one is not enough, apart from that this is a GREAT place to say.
A beautiful house with well kept exterior. Stunning views , very peaceful and a lovely pool.
8 people stayed in out party and all had more than enough room in a well equipped house.
Highly recommend .....
Grange Lapin is a beautiful property. The pictures on the web site don't do it justice. The large downstairs open plan living space is fantastic. It's very nicely furnished and decorated. Plenty of space for larger groups
The outdoor space and the pool couldn't be better and the views from all rooms are breathtaking. It's quiet and peaceful. But not far from supermarket etc
Lesley and Toby were very pleasant and helpful. The whole experience from booking to returning home was a pleasure
Thank you Toby and Lesley
