Our son was rowing at the National schools Championships in May this year at the Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre near Nottingham. This hotel is ideally situated away from Nottingham's busy and overcrowded City centre and formed an excellent base for us. The room we had was a family one, it was clean, airy and comfortable. The staff could not do enough for us to make our overnight stay pleasant. The Chinese restaurant at the hotel served delicious and well priced food and the breakfast (continental) was excellent. We were so impressed with our stay that we booked the same room for a 2 day stay in July. Yet again we had a great stay, the staff were fantastic and the room was as comfortable as before. Will be looking to return next year!!

Hello Richard Gere (never thought I'd be writing that :-) ),

Yes, thank for pointing this out. We are just 8 miles from the National Watersports Centre and 12 minutes with no traffic. It is really a good base and we'll do special early breakfasts for those who need to get there early.

I am pleased that we can offer a good, full, healthy continental breakfast and it's something I really enjoy myself.

You will all of course always be warmly welcomed when you return to the Bingham Townhouse.

Regards,

Nigel

We have stayed here a few times over the years and never been disappointed, this time under new owners who were very attentive, the only fault was the breakfast, we have always enjoyed the full english in the past but there was only a continental option this time

Hello DJReid,

Thank you for taking the time to review, and specifically for mentioning something we can improve.

I'd love to do cooked breakfast every day and we certainly do so on request for groups. However, until we have refitted some of the kitchen and recruit a breakfast chef it is difficult to ensure the quality. We are getting there though and hopefully by the next time you visit.

Regards,

Nigel

Hi Stevo,

Very glad you enjoyed your stay with us and really so nice that you use Tripadvisor for such positive reviews all round, not just us.

Many thanks and hope to welcome you back soon,

Stayed for two nights visiting family in Bingham in a double and twin room. Rooms were clean and modern with nice finishing touches. Bathrooms were the only let-down, very dated and showers ancient.
Didn't eat in restaurant, although heard good reviews.
Location is great, right in the middle of Bingham.
We will be back when next visiting the area!

Hello Angela,

You'll be pleased to hear that all the bathrooms have had small improvements and the two best twin rooms have beautiful wet rooms with wonderful 'rain showers'. I'm sure you'll love them when you stay next.

Many thanks for your review and kind support.

This is a great place to stay. The owner, Nigel , and the manager Chris are two of the most hospitable people we've met on our travels and well suited to their roles. The rooms are being progressively up-graded but ours (room 215) was absolutely up-to-date. Although the bathroom is still to be renovated, everything worked well, once we worked out how to turn the shower on. (We ARE from Australia so find the British showers a daily challenge! ) The lounge and restaurant facilities are worth the visit alone, the food beautifully cooked, fish filleted at the table, service friendly and efficient without being overpowering. We visit Britain every few years and rarely go back to places we've already been, but in this case we will probably make an exception because it will be good to see the result of all Nigel's projected improvements. A gem and only a stone's throw from the big smoke.

Hello Glennis,

I remember your visit well. You are too generous in your review!

I hope you do make it back, it really means a lot to us to see our guests return. Let us know in advance and we'll ensure you get a room with a new bathroom, unless of course they are all complete by your next trip.

Warmest regards,

Nigel
