“Lovely stay in Bingham”

We stayed in Rosehip cottage for a month upon our first time visit in Nottingham. We had a very unique experience when we stayed in the cottage. The place is a little bit small yet everything that you will ever need is readily accessible. Particularly the kitchen, the cooking utensils is very complete that you can always cook easily.

The location of the cottage is very strategic for tourist as it is just a 3-5 minutes walk from the Bingham market square. There will be a bus going to the city centre that can be taken in the market square too. The market square area has everything that you will ever need ranging from convenience stores, restaurants, and even pet shops. On top of that, there are two market events that are happening in the market square - Thursday market and Farmer's market, the latter happen every month. Make sure you visit both of them as they are selling traditional stuffs that you won't find everyday e.g. the delicious traditional pork pie.

During our stay we didn't meet Jane as she was in France for our period of staying, but she has her assistant Traci that will be available to help when you need something. Jane was also tolerant enough that she allowed us to bring our little dog in. We definitely will recommend this place for our friends and family that are coming to visit Nottingham.

So pleased the local Pork pies went down well. They will be from Melton Mowbray just a short distance away and Nationally known for their pies.
Yes, its a great little market selling useful things for the home, wild game, greetings cards, plants...wonderful!
It seems our new kitchen went down well despite the small space. It is a very old cottage and in days gone by, a family of 8 would have lived there. I guess we are all spoilt for space these days !

“Great little Cottage in a lovely town”
Reviewed April 1, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed in the cottage for two months following an emergency at our own home. It was ideal for the two of us and our two dogs and met all of our needs. A lovely new kitchen, two king size beds and a fantastic shower all make this a cottage that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a break in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside.

“Just lovely”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We so enjoyed our time in the cottage, although we were out and about a lot visiting all sorts of places close by, we found time for a morning cuppa at the lovely frontage and watch the world go by.People that walked past were very friendly, and keen for a chat if you wished.
I would recommend this as a beautiful place to stay, a lovely touch of the old world. The owner has thought of everything with an iron, hair dryer and coffee/ tea and even a bottle of milk to start us off before we found our way around.
The owner has been honest in their description and photos of the property, coming from Australia and unsure what we might get only booked one week so our only disappointment was we didn't book for longer as it was lovely.

Just lovely to hear from you too! I am so pleased you mentioned the terrace as when I am there, I am just like you, watching the world go by with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Its such a quiet little street that the neighbours are indeed inclined to greet and chat and more than once I have had one hop up on the terrace to have a glass with me! I have worked hard at recreating a decor somewhat in keeping with the age of the cottage so was pleased to hear you appreciated that. I used to be an antique dealer so was lucky to have found some super bits and pieces on my travels. I wish you a safe journey back to Oz.

“Sufficiently pleasant, cottage feel all over”
Reviewed April 17, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Good location, nice village and getting around the midlands is quit easy from Bingham. Clean, everything you need, warm welcome by caretaker. Feedback from owner was quick. It's not a 4 star hotel, but a simple, nice old cottage which has its charm if you appreciate it. Coming from Holland, we did. For two more than enough room, for four adults you need to be great friends as the bathroom needs planning.

Indeed we are not a 4* Hotel - thank goodness! How impersonal and how expensive that would be! The bathroom is, however, like a Hotel Bathroom so small and needs to be juggled for 4 people, as we say in advert. Most people have fun and enjoy this challenge, so all bodes well as its so much cheaper than 4 people in a Hotel. Our caretaker and neigbours enjoyed meeting you and I was glad to hear of all your trips out. Thanks so much for leaving feedback.

“A cottage of convenience and comfort in the heart of the town.”
Reviewed March 29, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

This cottage gave me and my boyfriend a place to stay whilst also visiting family in the town. We were warm and cosy. The cottage is full of character making it great fun to stay there and if we had stayed longer the log fire would have been lit. Next time perhaps. It was lovely to find a few essential supplies already in the kitchen cupboards for us to use and it was nice not to have to bring linen and towels with us. The caretaker, who was very kind and helpful, made us feel that there was someone at hand to call if there were any problems. I hope to book the cottage again for another visit to Bingham. Thank you.

“Wonderful, pretty cottage, a delight to stay there”
Reviewed March 12, 2013 for a stay in March 2013

My daughter and I spent a few days here early March and it was absolutely wonderful. The cottage was cosy and warm and really clean and lovely. It was so nice having the log fire which made evenings really cosy. The bedrooms were pretty and comfortable and we wanted for nothing. The owner was very efficient in responding to any queries we had also. This was one of the best cottages I have ever stayed in.

Thank you for leaving such a prompt and indeed glowing review! I am almost blushing. I trust it helped your daughter with her recuperation and that you found the proximity of shops etc. an added advantage.
We hope you will visit again.
