“Just wonderful...”
Reviewed July 23, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This is a fantastic gite in just a great location. Truly within walking distance to the supermarket, bakery, local restaurants but at the end of a little road you would think you were in the middle of nowhere. So quiet and peaceful. Gite has all the basics needed although kitchen and bathroom are small. Living space in bedroom and living area and leading to outside is great. View and surroundings lovely. It is well located for visiting all the sites and places of interest/activities. Karen, Steve and Scooby all made us very welcome and were there if needed. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a getaway in this area of France.

Thank you for letting us know about your stay, it is great you enjoyed your holiday. We're lucky to be close to the village but in a very quiet spot. Kindest regards Karen and Steve (and of course Scooby)

“Ideal location for a relaxing holiday”
Reviewed July 10, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Stayed here for a week in July. The gite is ideal for two people on the outskirts of a small village. The view of the sunset from the property over the chateaux was a sight not to be missed. The owners live on site and were available when needed. The area is beautiful for visiting local towns and the owner of the property Steve was very knowledgeable about the area

“Simple perfection”
Reviewed June 25, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We have just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful converted barn and we really didn't want to come home. The accommodation is lovely and set in the most beautiful countryside with stunning views. The location is superb, just a stroll into the village which has the best boulangerie/patisserie as well as a very good butchers and a couple of restaurants. The snack-bar/restaurant at the top of the lane serves excellent food and is well recommended. Scooby, as mentioned in other reviews, is adorable - even my husband who has a severe dog allergy fell in love with Scooby. A perfect holiday and thanks to Steve and Karen for making it so. Look forward to returning.

“A little bit of heaven”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 for a stay in September 2013

We stayed at this property for two weeks in September and really enjoyed our stay. Karen and Steve were very welcoming. The place is so peaceful and relaxing, couldn't hear a sound at night! The local village is easy to walk to, with shops and restaurant, and there is a small supermarket at the end of the lane which is useful, especially for dog treats for Scooby. There is plenty to see and do in the area. Steve was very helpful, especially where the flatter areas were to ride our bikes and we definitely brought back some good bottles of wine, following his advice, this time!

“Perfectly unbeatable holiday”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Great location in lush green countryside, and 10-15min stroll to a small village with 4 restaurants/bars, 2 boulangeries, 1 excellent boucherie/traiteur and a great Carrefour for everything else. The cottage itself is an ok-sized living/dining/kitchen area + shower/loo, but has everything you need for holiday catering. The bedroom is enormous, with an equally giant and very comfortable bed. You step straight out from the living area onto a pebbled terrace with dining equipment, bbq and sun loungers. The loungers are heaven to flop on after a day canoeing, walking, river/lake swimming or plain old over-eating! For cloudy days, it's an easy drive to major prehistoric sites in the Vezere valley like Lascaux, also geological caves, chateaux, medieval towns. It's ridiculous how much there is to do here, and equally, how much the peace and quiet is so conducive to doing absolutely nothing. If you're a foodie, you'll be like a kid-in-sweet-shop, what with the local nut wines, foie gras, truffles, duck, cheese and wine etc. Steve is a good person to talk food with, and very generous with his eggs! We are already missing it all, especially Scooby, who is the best (if greediest) host anyone could wish for.
