Been a number of times to this pub and each time stayed in the same warm comfortable room. The pub has a number of real ales, and excellent coffee. Breakfast is great with as much coffee as I could drink. The only gripe is that the orange juice could be freshly squeezed.

We booked a last-minute Saturday night stay via the Mr and Mrs Smith website. We chose it because we had never really been to Somerset before and wanted a cheap getaway, and this seemed to fit the bill.

We got a "Big Room" as this was the only room left, and I would recommend getting this one simply because of the fantastic huge free-standing roll-top bath in the bedroom, next to the window. The separate bathroom also had underfloor heating and a great monsoon shower, and lovely Bramley bath/shower products.

Do remember that after all it is a pub with rooms, not a hotel - so don't expect slippers or bath robes! There was a kettle in the room and we were given fresh milk on arrival, which was a plus.

The pub itself is very nice. We had a couple of drinks at the bar before dinner - you get served quickly and efficiently. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was completely full, so there was a good atmosphere. And the food is by far the main attraction for coming here. It was of an excellent standard and the menu was very varied. The wine list had a wide selection too.

As it was a Saturday and our room overlooked the entrance to the pub, it was very noisy with people standing outside smoking etc. As a light sleeper this did annoy me, but you do have to remember that this is a pub after all!

All in all, if you're looking for a fairly cheap weekend in beautiful Somerset, then I would recommend The Swan.

Room Tip: Go for the Big Room and get the huge roll-top bath in your bedroom!

Went here for some lunch with friends on a Saturday .
Very impressed by decor and menu looked good.
Had to wait a good 45 min for food, but it was busy.
I ordered pulled pork bap with apple sauce and chips.
Pork was cold, bap was so chewy I had to leave it, chips were excellent though.
Poor service - no one offered coffee/dessert so they missed out there as we all would have had some.
Had to ask twice for the bill. When it came and we left out a card for payment , waited 15 min and no one came back so had to go and pay at the bar.
A real shame - the quality of food should have been better for the price and the service really let down a fantastic venue.

We arrived late last night 9.50 pm, panicking about missing supper. The staff were expecting us and made it clear there was no panic about missing supper. Lovely food, good beer and wine followed with good service.

Our room is lovely too, great linen, excellent decor, good wifi, telly that works! Looking forward to breakfast!

Warm, inviting and decorated for Christmas. Great after a long walk on the Somerset levels. Had Beef Shin and Mash in the bar - delicious. Nice to be able to order a "smaller" portion - great value at £7. Ate here many times during the year. Always good. Will return.

We spent a night at the Swan and are just back, feeling as if we had been away for a week. The food was great - ex- River Cottage chef, Tom, stayed true to his roots and served us sustainable, ethically-sourced fare at really reasonable prices. The quality of food stayed with us till morning, with the best full English (all sourced from local farms) we have had in a very long time. Service was top-notch - really helpful staff and a warm, cosy atmosphere in the restaurant.

The room - amazing. Eclectic, vintage-inspired decor and a bathroom to die for, with gorgeous organic, aromatherapy toiletries from Bramley (at the Beckford Arms, Wiltshire). Lovely, quality furnishing and every facility you could want.

All in all, we had a break that was worth twice what they charge for it. I would highly recommend the Swan and fully intend to go back at the earliest opportunity!

We have just returned from a two night stay at The Swan, it was all I hoped it would be. Room 2 was beautifully decorated in subtle tones, the bathroom was stylish with complementary bathroom products which were so lovely ,I purchased some when we left. Dinner on both evenings was very good as was the breakfast. I particularly liked the fact that lots of the produce was sourced locally, the sausages and bacon used at breakfast come from the local butcher across the road from The Swan. The staff are young, enthusiastic and very friendly. A great stay all around!
