We stayed here in July for 1 night. They have done a fantastic job with the renovation of both the pub and the rooms. It was quirky with all of the miss matched china and the collection of lampshades in the dinning room really has to be seen. Our room was lovely, clean and modern yet old fashioned and cosy. The bath in the window was a real treat. We will certainly return.

Room Tip: Room One, faultless

A beautiful village nestling in the austerity free triangle of Wells , Glastonbury and Cheddar. The Swan ticks all the boxes - except ? Menu varied and creative ; decor fits perfectly with the Primrose Hill on tour expectations ; wine list excellent. But is it suffering from lack of competition ? Is it just complacent ? Is it just a bit cliquey ? Whatever you decide it is I'm sure you will think that certain je ne sais quoi is missing. Perhaps its that they just don't need your custom ?? You decide. We chose to stay here for one night for our 35th wedding anniversary - we had read all the reviews and looked at their website and felt it was exactly what we were looking for. We weren't disappointed!
We were in room 2 - one of the large rooms with a large en suite bathroom complete with roll top bath and walk in wet room shower. Pure luxury. The bedroom was huge with a large super king sized, extremely comfortable bed and a little sitting area with magazines and the tea/coffee making facilities (with a jar of sweeties too - a lovely touch). As previous reviewers have said, room 2 is at the front of the hotel so you do get some traffic noise but to be honest it didn't worry us too much; we slept really well.
We had an amazing meal in the restaurant that evening - the food was exceptional and service excellent. Breakfast the following morning was equally as good and very tasty.
Wedmore is a pretty little village with a few nice shops and pubs/ cafes. It is very convenient for the beautiful Somerset countryside around Cheddar and the local city of Wells.
We will definitely stay at the Swan at Wedmore again when we visit the area again and can highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Only saw room 2 but if they are all as well appointed you won't be disappointed.

The Swan is beautifully furnished and decorated. The rooms [we stayed in a large room] are very comfortable, [ours had a free standing bath in the room and also an ensuite with wet room].Food was excellent . The restaurant was fully booked, and this was mid-week. Great location and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, but smaller. Wedmore is only a small village so there isn't a lot...

We stayed at the Swan at Wedmore over the weekend of the 27-29th July, and from the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. Set in a lovely village on the edge of the Somerset Levels, this is a beautiful gastro pub with lovely accommodation. We arrived early but were swiftly checked in to our room and able to drop our bags and head off for some exploring. The hotel and bar staff were very friendly and helpful, and always ready to offer advice or assistance when asked. The highlight of The Swan has to be the restaurant and the delicious food on offer, which was served at very reasonable prices. We were able to sit outside for our dinner when the sun was shining, or in the bar or lovely restaurant if we preferred. The bar was lively in the evenings with a mixture of locals and tourists, but the atmosphere was always friendly. I would not hesitate in recommending The Swan as an ideal place for a long weekend getaway, and I hope to return soon.

Room Tip: We picked the smallest room in the hotel, but this was perfectly good for a long weekend. The only t...

We stayed as a stop over to st Ives. Found the hotel on the trusty Mr and Mrs Smith website!
Really glad we chose this hotel.
It was amazing value £85
Including a gorgeous breakfast. The decor in the rooms is trendy and the bathroom was great with the brambly bath products!
The bath was huge!
The village is really sweet. Chose to eat in the Swan, the food was gorgeous!
Girls behind the bar were helpful and friendly!
Would definitely recommend and will try to return!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel - we booked via Mr and Mrs Smith Boutique Hotel Company and on arrival we had been given a free upgrade to a Large room (Room No 1). The room was gorgeous with a big bed free standing claw foot bath in the bedroom and then in the bathroom a lovely big shower. The food was outstanding - because I have dietary requirements i phoned ahead a week in advance to pre warn them and they arranged to get the food I could eat in - even though it wasn't on their main menu. My husband had the Steak on the first night and he had the burger on the second night both of which he said were excellent . The bar area was lovely and snug and we found ourselves in there snuggled up on a sofa in the afternoon when we'd got back from a day out and the same in the evening after a meal . The staff were fantastic and very helpful nothing was ever a problem. I would recommend this hotel to anybody! We are defiently going to go back and stay !

Room Tip: We stayed in Room One and would recommend it to anyone !
