The Swan is beautifully furnished and decorated. The rooms [we stayed in a large room] are very comfortable, [ours had a free standing bath in the room and also an ensuite with wet room].Food was excellent . The restaurant was fully booked, and this was mid-week. Great location and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter, but smaller. Wedmore is only a small village so there isn't a lot...

We stayed at the Swan at Wedmore over the weekend of the 27-29th July, and from the moment we arrived we felt completely at home. Set in a lovely village on the edge of the Somerset Levels, this is a beautiful gastro pub with lovely accommodation. We arrived early but were swiftly checked in to our room and able to drop our bags and head off for some exploring. The hotel and bar staff were very friendly and helpful, and always ready to offer advice or assistance when asked. The highlight of The Swan has to be the restaurant and the delicious food on offer, which was served at very reasonable prices. We were able to sit outside for our dinner when the sun was shining, or in the bar or lovely restaurant if we preferred. The bar was lively in the evenings with a mixture of locals and tourists, but the atmosphere was always friendly. I would not hesitate in recommending The Swan as an ideal place for a long weekend getaway, and I hope to return soon.

Room Tip: We picked the smallest room in the hotel, but this was perfectly good for a long weekend. The only t...

We stayed as a stop over to st Ives. Found the hotel on the trusty Mr and Mrs Smith website!
Really glad we chose this hotel.
It was amazing value £85
Including a gorgeous breakfast. The decor in the rooms is trendy and the bathroom was great with the brambly bath products!
The bath was huge!
The village is really sweet. Chose to eat in the Swan, the food was gorgeous!
Girls behind the bar were helpful and friendly!
Would definitely recommend and will try to return!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel - we booked via Mr and Mrs Smith Boutique Hotel Company and on arrival we had been given a free upgrade to a Large room (Room No 1). The room was gorgeous with a big bed free standing claw foot bath in the bedroom and then in the bathroom a lovely big shower. The food was outstanding - because I have dietary requirements i phoned ahead a week in advance to pre warn them and they arranged to get the food I could eat in - even though it wasn't on their main menu. My husband had the Steak on the first night and he had the burger on the second night both of which he said were excellent . The bar area was lovely and snug and we found ourselves in there snuggled up on a sofa in the afternoon when we'd got back from a day out and the same in the evening after a meal . The staff were fantastic and very helpful nothing was ever a problem. I would recommend this hotel to anybody! We are defiently going to go back and stay !

Room Tip: We stayed in Room One and would recommend it to anyone !

I visited The Swan on Saturday evening and ate there for the first time since the refurbishment. The food was some of the finest I have had in quite some time. The belly of pork was delicious and my friend had the Hake which again was to die for. The menu to be honest made it difficult to decide what to have! All this was served by very polite and friendly staff in lovely surroundings. Can't wait to go back and try more!

I loved this place! It’s been renovated beautifully (flagstone floors and terracotta tiles, vintage Persian rugs, open fires and log burners, antique furniture in the bar but smart, stylish, modern bedrooms) and everything about it is says quality: the food, the room, the furnishings, the sheets, the toiletries. The room was spotlessly clean and wonderfully fresh smelling, the bed was soooooo comfy and breakfast was DELICIOUS! It was all just perfect...with one exception. We stayed in Room 5 (at the top of the stairs) and, like the reviewer who stayed in Room 6, had a terrible night’s sleep. The bar staff woke us up when closing and kept us awake until midnight: bang, bang, crash, crash. What a racket! Then, in the morning, we were woken at 6.15am by the cleaner unlocking and the vacuum – which sounded like it was outside our door - went on at 6.30. So, definitely worth staying here but be sure to request a quiet room away from the bar / restaurant.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the bar / restaurant.

We found this pub in fork magazine.
From the moment i booked this pub with rooms i had a good feeling about it, The lady taking my booking had sence of humour over the phone which is a big plus for me.
It was a wet day when we arrived here and the bar was perfect to meet our friends who travelled from devon to meet us.
The bar was busy with ladys that lunch and your local builder who popped in for a quick pint really nice atmosphere. We had a light lunch in the bar as we were eating in the restaurant that night. All the staff were really lovely and seem to enjoy there job nothing was to much for them. we sayed in room 2 nice room front of the pub, My girl friend was very impressed with the quality of the products in the bath room and they are british made! The room was done to a very high standard. It was a monday night and the restaurant was full a good sign to start.
The homemade bread arrived with good quality olive oil and room temp butter which so many restaurants get wrong cold butter from the fridge.
I had some really good ling goujons which was a good size portion, nice to see a chef using different fish for a change. My partner had salt cod beignets these were stunning i could of eaten a plate of them. Main i had a vey good ribeye steak with salad and fab chips !
My other half had day boat caught lemon sole with salsa verde and new potatoes. i was so full had no room for pudding the girlfriend had rhubarb triffle .
Have told loads about this place allready.
would highly recomend to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 2 very nice rom with a separate shower and bath. If your a light sleeper may not suit as only s...
