“Blissful honeymoon”
Reviewed April 23, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Me husband and I chose to stay here for a weeks honeymoon based on it being a central stopping point on our journey from where we married to where we live, and as I'm heavily pregnant convenience was important. We were not disappointed.
The marina itself is a stunning location, it is a gated community which had fob only entry on evenings and weekends. This is something to consider if you arrive on a weekend as you will need to contact the owner before you can gain access to the site.
The lodge was positioned backing onto the river, which is great for seeing wildlife and people going pasts on boats and canoes. There is a small metal staircase up to the door, and the entry is a conservatory style room with a table and chairs. We enjoyed eating breakfast in here and as the weather was so nice the room was warm and had a great view.
The lodge itself was very cosy, which was just what I needed at this time. The decor isn't posh but there are lots of extras that more than make up for this, such as an extensive dvd collection, High spec TV and DVD players in all rooms, a dishwasher and all the kitchen equipment you could require. The beds were comfy and we slept well in the lodge. We had our dog stay with us which we had to pay a damage deposit for, though this is usual with most holiday lets. The dog was at home here and loved walking by the river and watching the ducks from the balcony.
Communication from the owner was great and there was information in the cottage so there wouldn't be anything you didn't know how to use.
Have already recommended this holiday rental to friends and family as we really did have a wonderful stay. The location was great for being a short drive to lots of different towns and restaurants.
Thank you
