“Dog & People Friendly!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Nice people, nice place, and they have a lovely dog too - a bonus for us!
This is a very friendly and cosy B&B where you will be looked after but not intruded on.
Our room was self contained and had everything that we needed - beds, bathroom, kitchen, &.... dog friendly, plus very near to a local, safe bridleway where the dogs could be let off to burn off some energy.
Travelling from Essex, we had a dog agility show near Grantham this Saturday (24-11-2012), but had arranged to combine our trip to collect a Caranex tent from Lichfield on Friday evening, 23-11-2012. It seemed like a good idea to save some money, until we started to search for 'dog friendly' B&B's in Grantham and local area. We didn't find many that would take us, as we have 4 dogs.
Peacock Farm really helped us out by taking us.
Dogs are expected to be well behaved and, of course, housetrained!
Nicky would be happy to discuss any individual issues with you, as she did with us.

I recently booked all three rooms for a family weekend stay as we were attending a wedding close by. Nicky and her family made us feel very welcome and their hospitality was fantastic with tea and cake on arrival and home made bread in the cuboard- even banners for my husbands birthday that I mentioned in passing, were a lovely surprise. The rooms are a great size with everything you could possibly need- very comfortable, clean and lovely decorated, and the added bonus of a well stocked fridge. A home from home, especially with the gorgeous labrador, Jess. Thanks Nicky we will definatly see you again!

Room Tip: No tips- its simply brilliant!

I recently stayed three nights at Peacock Farm on the way to a golf tournament in Lincolnshire. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome with tea and cake in the conservatory. I chose to stay in Redmile as many of my distant ancestors we're born there or nearby. With Nicky's exceptional hospitality it really felt like coming home. The room was a very good size and attractively decorated with a very comfortable double bed. The kitchenette was well stocked so you can make your own breakfast or snacks if you want. Nicky also cooks breakfast which I had on two days. The highlight of the stay was an invite to a local church concert which really made me feel part of the community. Close by Belvoir Castle is well worth a visit and has an excellent guided tour. All-in-all a great stay which I would have liked to have been longer. Hopefully I'll be back soon.

I stayed at the Peacock Farm during a cycling weekend with some friends. Our wives joined us for the Saturday evening and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. Three of us had a massage and, following dinner at the Windmill Inn in Redmile village, we also had a late night dip in the spa pool which was very pleasant following a day in the saddle. Breakfast is a combination of Continental self served in the bedroom followed by a cooked breakfast served in the dining room. It was a 10 minute walk into Redmile village where the Winmill Inn served nice meals. A nice place in a great location for cycling, I would definitely return.

Just returned from an easter break at the paddock, what a beautiful place to stay. Lovely walks along the canal and bridal path which is very near to the paddock. Steve made us feel so very welcome and the Easter eggs and beautiful cake left in our room were a lovely surprise. The added bonus of having a well stocked fridge is wonderful as the nearest shop is about 10 minutes drive away. Spotlessly clean rooms. We think that steve and nicky have put alot of thought into there B+B especially with the added extras and in the summer it would be a beautiful place to visit, a little on the cold side at easter but we had a wonderful relaxing break and would definately recommend anybody to stay at the paddock...

What a lovely place to stay, we were made to feel incredibly welcome in their own home.
the facilities were brilliant, clean, tidy and spacious bedroom and en-suite. situated in a beautiful area close to many attractions including belvoir castle, rutland water and close by to melton mowbray. we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away and were able to take our dog as well! i will certainly be returning with my horses in tow next time as there is also a paddock to use with lovely countryside riding!!

This will now be the 3rd time we've stayed here and each time we're are amazed a the warm and friendly welcolme from Nicky. The well stocked fridge is a great addition, especially if you don't want a cooked breakfast every morning. The facilities are great and the rooms and gardens are kept very clean and tidy. The village of Redmile is a short walk away and has two very nice pubs, we have eaten in both and can highly recommeded them for lunch and evening meals. We'll definately go back here and next time will book in for a massage.
