My friends invited my wife and I out to dinner at the waterfront inn and I was shocked at how long I'd been unaware of this little gem. It was a couple of weeks ago and since then I've become a regular. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the scenery is so beautiful that I'm there almost every night as they have different events almost every day of the week. All the staff is friendly and helpful and I can be quite demanding. Not once have I met with a rude or impatient hotel worker. The food from their restaurant "amelia's" is exquisite, some of the best I've ever had in my life. If you've ever wondered what true gourmet cuisine tastes like, then this is the place where you will experience that first hand. Not only is the food divine but the view from the outside dining area is magnificent and has to be experienced at least once if you are visiting the area. If you live in the villages and you haven't been to the waterfront inn then you are missing out on why people move here. An absolutely remarkable experience every time.

Decided to stay 2 nights after visiting with friends for a week in the Villages. When we arrived we had several pieces of luggage,,no attendant outside so we hauled everything to the lobby to find the attendant sitting at a desk.. :-(.. we checked in to find out after making these reservatons way in advance that our "king Balcony room" was on the 1st floor...asked about it only to be told "I didn't assign your room" and "it doesn't matter how far in advance you book, and there is nothing I can do now for you"...wasn't too happy about that because the nice part about staying there is the view of the lake from your room...well we had a nice view of people sitting at the pool right outside our balcony..restaurant staff was very friendly and the food at dinner was delicious and very affordable. The room was nicely appointed but I really don't think the sheets were quite as elegant as they say in their ad. The entertainment in the lobby was great...really good singers and you could dance the night away..IF I stay again ,,, would definately ask about where the room would be...

Room Tip: If you want a balcony...make sure you ask what floor they are putting you on

The hotel was exactly as described by other reviewers. Good location, great rooms, and a exceptionally friendly staff.

We had a waterview room, well worth the few extra bucks to wakeup to the sun coming up over the lake. The mattress was excellant, good pillows, and better than most sheets and towels.

The only negative was the breakfast buffet, the only choice, I thought is was lackluster. At $10.00, which is neither cheap or expensive, I was hoping for a little more but not worth quibbling about.

Lots of great places to eat within 5 to 20 minutes. If you are a golfer and have a friend living in The Villages, there are enough courses there to boggle your mind.

Room Tip: Pick a Lake VIew if you can.

We were at the Waterfront for two nights recently to attend a wedding at The Villages. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had lunch in the restaurant upon arrival, nice sandwiches and wraps. The morning buffet is $10 (as part of the group attending the wedding we were given $3 off coupons) had a big selection and was very good. Everything hot and tasty. Decor is nice, beds comfy, love the dual shower heads in the shower. The second night we were there was a Sunday and the entertainment in the lobby was karaoke. Wow was it crowded but alot of fun.

We stayed at the waterfront from February 12th to Feb 19th while specking out our home we are building in Sanibel. The waterfront was close and convenient. The hotel is on the water which is pretty. It is a clean, well kept hotel. You can walk to all restaurants and entertainment which is great. The only complaints I have are that the parking is terrible! If you are visiting in the winter months, be prepared for difficult parking. The waterfront does not own the parking lot in front of the hotel, The Villages does so anyone can park there. If you are not parked there by about 4 pm, you will have to park very far away and walk to the hotel. There is a lot going on at the square and around town so everyone parks everywhere. If you have difficulty walking or use an assistive device, this hotel will not be for you. Also, the food in the restaurant is awful. The breakfast buffet is not good. They offer a lot....scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, grits, toast, cereal, bagels, and omelets to order. The problem is all of the buffet food is cold and dry and the made to order omelet had so much grease on it, when we tipped the plate the grease just dripped onto the table. I've never seen anything so poorly done. The buffet is 10.00 per person. Go to Too Jays just a few blocks away. There is also entertainment every night in the bar/lobby area. It's very loud but the rooms are well insullated so you can't hear it. However, the check in desks are in the lobby and when the music is going you can't communicate well with the receptionist. Not very well planned. All in all, I would stay here again and avoid the food. The staff are very nice and helpful and you can't beat the location. There is a fridge and microwave in the room as well as a safe.

Room Tip: Get water view. If you can't walk far, this hotel is not for you. Parking is a major problem i...

We have gathered as an extended family twice now, most recently for a funeral. The staff couldn't have been more kind, accommodating, and professional. The restaurant is very good, the rooms are very comfortable and elegant, especially the ones overlooking the waterfront. Within walking distance of Sumter's Landing which has all the stores and restaurants you could wish for. If anyone you're visiting has a Villages ID, the rate is discounted.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the waterfront with a balcony
