“Very nice hotel and very friendly people.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2012

We stayed at the waterfront from February 12th to Feb 19th while specking out our home we are building in Sanibel. The waterfront was close and convenient. The hotel is on the water which is pretty. It is a clean, well kept hotel. You can walk to all restaurants and entertainment which is great. The only complaints I have are that the parking is terrible! If you are visiting in the winter months, be prepared for difficult parking. The waterfront does not own the parking lot in front of the hotel, The Villages does so anyone can park there. If you are not parked there by about 4 pm, you will have to park very far away and walk to the hotel. There is a lot going on at the square and around town so everyone parks everywhere. If you have difficulty walking or use an assistive device, this hotel will not be for you. Also, the food in the restaurant is awful. The breakfast buffet is not good. They offer a lot....scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, grits, toast, cereal, bagels, and omelets to order. The problem is all of the buffet food is cold and dry and the made to order omelet had so much grease on it, when we tipped the plate the grease just dripped onto the table. I've never seen anything so poorly done. The buffet is 10.00 per person. Go to Too Jays just a few blocks away. There is also entertainment every night in the bar/lobby area. It's very loud but the rooms are well insullated so you can't hear it. However, the check in desks are in the lobby and when the music is going you can't communicate well with the receptionist. Not very well planned. All in all, I would stay here again and avoid the food. The staff are very nice and helpful and you can't beat the location. There is a fridge and microwave in the room as well as a safe.

Room Tip: Get water view. If you can't walk far, this hotel is not for you. Parking is a major problem i...

We have gathered as an extended family twice now, most recently for a funeral. The staff couldn't have been more kind, accommodating, and professional. The restaurant is very good, the rooms are very comfortable and elegant, especially the ones overlooking the waterfront. Within walking distance of Sumter's Landing which has all the stores and restaurants you could wish for. If anyone you're visiting has a Villages ID, the rate is discounted.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the waterfront with a balcony

Situated walking distance to the town center of Lake Sumter Landing, the Waterfront Inn is convenient and worth the price to experience the lifestyle right in the center of The Villages.

The hallways are decorated with a pineapple design wallcovering in a rich aqua background above stained wood wainscoting, reminding me of an old Hilton Head resort or a Key West luxury boutique. The rooms are tastefully decorated as well, with a mini-frig and coffee-maker, complete with roomy bathroom including wall sconces controlled by a dimmer switch (great to dim for nightlight) and wall-mounted lit magnifying mirror! My balcony had 2 rockers overlooking Lake Sumter: too bad it was the chilliest week of the year, so I only used it to step out and take in the tranquil view.

If nightly entertainment is of interest, the lobby/bar has a different performer every night of the week, obviously appealling to guests and local residents as well.

Each morning I picked up a complimentary copy of The Daily Sun in the lobby, The Villages newspaper, to check out the daily happenings.

My "business" on this trip was a house-hunting trip.

Room Tip: Balcony rooms overlook Lake Sumter and the evening sunset. The east facing rooms overlook the parki...

A lovely place to stay when visiting in The Villages. Perfectly located, beautiful hotel, rooms clean, nicely decorated, all staff exceedingly friendly. I had king bedroom on lake; only complaint is you cannot open windows......go for lakefront room with balcony (very nice with rocking chairs!) You can't go wrong staying here. Also wish they had a spa.....

This is an entree to life in The Villages- your first home perhaps. You don't come here for the hotel but to experience " The Lifestyle"' to make ready for a new home, new life, new everything. Check in see the downtown (Main Street Disney)' get literature meet a realtor, maybe buy you new lifestyle
Nightly entertainment in lobby, varied performers decent quality. I did not eat there, but restaurant looked busy and had a nice eye appeal for dining overall a nice place but we did not catch The Villages Fever!
No one ever greeted us on arrival front desk bellman no one

Room Tip: Waterfront with a balcony for sure

We've stayed here about four different times and its always been a good experience.
We've also brought friends & relatives to stay here while visiting The Villages.
Staff are very helpful and friendly and rooms have been consistently clean. Bed is very comfy-----however, would enjoy softer towels. There was entertainment in the lobby two nights whil we were there (there may have been entertainment the other night also, but we returned to let to know)

Room Tip: This time we got a balcony overlooking the water, which was lovely; however we are always so busy at...

I stayed at The Waterfront Inn this past New Years Eve for a romantic getaway and was very impressed with the location, friendliness of staff, cleanliness of the Pelican Suite and the lobby bar hospitality. The suite was elegantly furnished, large, and complimented with numerous windows and a balcony overlooking the pool and Lake Sumter. The bathroom was oversized and luxurious with a spa tub and dual shower heads in the oversized shower. The full length bathrobes supplied were a treat to wear and oh so comfortable! Will always be making reservations at The Waterfront for future central FL visits. Thank you, Waterfront Inn and Villagers, for your warm Florida hospitality!
