We had been tempted to have dinner at The Priory by the aspect of the location and expected to be seated and receive a menu to choose from. To our surprise we were whisked to a long queue of guests to make a hurried choice at the till, quite like in an ordinary pub. There was a nice variety of shellfish, fish and vegetables but with the long queue of waiting people it was more a hit-and-run than choosing a menu. I have to admit that the fish was very fresh.
We felt that this type of having dinner did not fit in the classical surroundings of The Priory but seeing the place full with customers not everybody seems to object to the formula. We do, specially as the bill was not really a give-away.More
