“Friendly and comfortable stay”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

We stayed at Kate and Pete's B&B for just one night on our way from North Wales to the New Forest. Pendragon house is a warm and comfortable place to stay and the hosts are most friendly. Our room had an extra (small) princess bed put in for our princess, which meant it couldn't fit the coffee and tea making facilities that are usually there, but it was no trouble at all for the hosts to bring some tea and coffee up to the room when we wanted some!
We didn't have time to look around the village, because of the weather and the short time we were able to stay, but would certainly enjoy looking around on a next visit.

Just returned from another fabulous weekend at Pendragon House. The rooms are lovely with great period features and comfy beds. Kath and Pete are great hosts and know lots about the history of the local area. Breakfast is also very scrummy. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Caerleon is stacked full of Roman artefects, buidlings and history so well worth a visit.
I had business in Wales so my first port of call was the B and B where I had received such good welcome. Sure enough, nothing had changed and Kath recalled every detail of the first visit and enquired after us and our circumstances.
It makes me realise how much I appreciate personal service, not the robotic form of greeting from someone who doesn't know you from Adam and for whom you are just another face.

The breakfast was as brilliant as ever with porridge that melted in the mouth so to speak.

Part of the reason the Romans chose this place to settle was the extreme tidal surges of the River Usk. It is well worth a watch because the incoming tide is quick and overwhelms the river flowing outwards. Blink and you miss it. Its a bit like the Severn Bore but on a more minor scale.

Room Tip: any room is good.

Staying somewhere as good as this makes you realise just how much accomodation standards have improved in recent years. It is really so very comfortable and everything you would want from a B & B including a wonderul breakfast. Kath and Peter are the perfect hosts and offered us tea and biscuits on arrival. I had booked for four people but due to illness we were only two, but that was no problem at all. We had 2 beautiful, well equipped rooms with the most comfortable beds and lovely, fluffy towels. Well done you two - you're doing everything right!

Couldn't really fault this lovely B&B- definitely a home from home with comfy bed, lovely big brekkie and wonderful hosts- what more could you ask for? Parking was easy- with permisson of the Olde Bull Pub Pendragon residents can park in their car park (Kath and Peter at Pendragon will give you a parking pass to pop in your windscreen). The bedroom was great, despite the recent heat wave we had a comfortable nights sleep and the B&B was in a great location. We stayed 2 nights for a wedding at nearby St. Cadocs church and the location was perfect. Kath and Pete are both very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again and would recommend to others.

Kath and Peter, where the most welcoming of couples I (we) have come across. Polite, sincere, down to earth very friendly and helpful. All these attributes added so much value to our short stay in the town/area.
The building was fascinating and historic. The Room was small but perfect as well as clean and practical - although the shower was not very strong (but that was the only weak point). Breakfasts were amazing and the hospitality as good as you will find.
Thank you very much for a great time - we hardly wanted to leave to attend the conference at Celtic Manor !!

Great night's stay with my teenage son on the way back from Cornwall to Manchester. Really excellent en-suite twin room which was spotless. Loved the chat with Kath about the historical heritage of the house and the town. Great breakfast with an amazing array of choices. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants quality accommodation which is real value for money.
