“Just regret I didn't bring my swimwear”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

Good view and clear water. Definitely worth a swim and enjoy the fall. Lots of good spots for taking a quality photo. The water is just so nice and the fall is vigorous even it is in a dry day.

“JUST STUNNING !! :)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013

Went along for a look as I had not been here in years and wanted to show my 10 year old and husband. It was raining just a little and there had been lots of rain up in the mountains so the water was not clear but the waterfall was just stunning. Would highly recommend a visit and swim if you are in the area :)

“Very Pretty”

This was a fantastic spot that we had seen advertised on all of the brochures. It wasn't clear whether you are allowed to swim here. It would have been much better with an electric barbeque. We were forced to buy our lunch even though we had packed sausages to cook.

“Stunning - Nature at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

Out of Cairns along Highway 1 in the opposite direction to Cape Tribulation is “the falls circuit”. This route is very well signposted so no map is needed but you can pick up good maps in all of the tourist places in Cairns.

First stop was the Cathedral Fig Tree. This is a long way down and not signposted all that while. Stick with it; it’s well worth the frustration of finding it. A huge fig tree with decorative outer roots and a hollow trunk that you can stand inside looking up at the twines and huge nests inside.

Volcanic crater Lake Eacham was cold initially but swimming here was paradise. We saw a python by the waters edge so would recommend jumping out into the water from the jetty. Definitely take a snorkel and fins, unfortunately we wasn’t organized for this. Toilets for changing here as with all of the other stops as I continue.

Our first falls of the trip was Milla Milla Falls. We were warned that during dry season this might not be worth the visit. Cold and rocky underfoot but a swim is ideal after the short drive from Lake Eacham. Would recommend taking a waterproof camera but this is a huge tour spot so there are plenty of people to take photos from the shore. The power of the falls is like a jet massage on your back.

Zillie Falls is between Milla Milla and Josephine and was also recommended. There are many other smaller falls on this circuit.

Last stop of the day was Josephine Falls as we were running out of daylight. Josephine is totally different to Milla Milla both in formation and activities. This is quite a walk from the car park to the falls through foliage. There are no changing rooms at the actual falls but there are in the car park.

Although you can climb the steps to the top of Josephine, you are unable to enter the pools up here due to injuries. The bottom pool is quite slippery so you can imagine what it is like higher up. There is a “natural” waterslide here which on testing is quite safe. Be careful climbing out of the bottom pool.

Not to be missed whilst in Cairns.
