“Better late than never Review”

I've spent three stays at Peacehaven with my wife, my sister, her husband who left a review, and my mother who was in her 80s during our stay.
I've only recently joined Tripadvisor which is why review is "late".

The surround seaside resorts are predominantly caravan based, and whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed many caravan stays in and around North Wales, as my age and health play a bigger factor in my holiday decisions, I'm fascinated that wonderful housing accommodation is ignored in favour of long, thin, cramped metal rectangular boxes for similar prices?
From the beautiful, large, landscaped garden with its own pond and frogs, to the apple trees and picnic seating, surrounded and enclosed by a fence for privacy... To the capacious dining room, living room, and roomy, airy bedrooms... Choosing a delightful house over a cramped caravan should be a no-brainer.
With majestic split level stairway to the upper bedrooms and large bathroom, the light and well appointed downstairs boasts a double bedroom ideal for those with mobility issues, as well as a really stylish downstairs bathroom/shower/toilet.
The Tv and hi Fi are a little out of date, but certainly serviceable when required. The kitchen is well appointed too, with plenty of cupboard storage and working kitchen equipment.
It's location is, quite simply, perfect : off the main road by about 20 yards so traffic is no issue, to a short 3 minute walk to a beautiful stretch of sea and sand virtually empty of tourists and litter, mostly used by dog walkers, cyclists, and local residents. Within 5 minutes walk in all directions will find two large pubs serving food, music, and large screen tv for sports....a Loydds Pharmacy, a newsagent, a chip shop, a hardware supermarket, an Asda, and even a tattoo parlour should you wish to adorn your skin with dragons, butterflies, flaming skulls or naked ladies! But ALL of these facilities could be a million miles away when you close the front door to "Peacehaven" to relax, wind down , eat, drink, shower or sleep.
Rest assured, at some point, we will go back for our fourth stay.

Liked best: Location and privacy
Liked least: Lack of modern technology equipment. A decent tv service and broadband, for a little extra per week, would make this place perfect!

Management Response

You know what they say 'Better late than never'.
Thankyou very much for still keeping 'Peacehaven' in mind 3 years on, during that time we have indeed up-dated the t.v and hi-fi and always listened too and tried to accommodate all 'guests' suggestions.
The garden is really maturing nicely now and still gets lots of great comments in the 'guest-book' its a shame that sometimes its at its best either time of the main 'season'
We hope you will return and enjoy a relaxing holiday in the near future and wish you and the family 'All the best'...Andrew and Edana

“Perfect house for a family break.”
Reviewed November 4, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

We returned last night from a lovely family break in Kinmel Bay. "Peacehaven" was the perfect location for our holiday. There were 5 adults, a three year old and a four month old baby in our party. Everything about the house is clean, bright and comfortable. We loved the fact that all the rooms were very bright. It was great to have two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one on the ground floor.
The garden is just lovely. The three year old loved "exploring" the paths and finding the apples which had fallen from the tree! We had some lovely stewed apple with porridge for breakfast - all from the windfalls!
The house is well located - five min walk to the supermarket and even less to the beach....and a great beach with lots of pools and sand "islands" for little boys to explore and find treasure!! We did lots of walking and the weather, tho cold was mostly dry.
The only downside of the house was the lack of a washing machine, but it did not interfere with our enjoyment - just meant we brought more clothes and today is wash day...at home! There are two pubs which serve food within a two minute walk of the house.
This is a lovely property, well maintained and I would happily return.

We used to live in kinmelbay and we moved to Australia in 2009 we have since been back to visit family and friends for our 7th weding anaversery. We didn't want to stay in a caravan and we found this house . The pictures don't do it justice it was very welcoming and had everything you could need and more ! The garden was lovely and peaceful and was walking distance to local pub with good food and Asda for shopping . Would book this again the next time we visit . Would recommend to anyone .
