This is a lovely place located on the long white quiet beach of Lipa Noi, facing west so the sunsets are good. But due to its isolation it is one of the least busy beaches in Koh Samui. The beach is white powdery sand, the water is clear and it shelves very gradually so is safe for swimming. The hotel is a collection of individual villas, most with their own small private pool, all within a few steps of the beach. The villas are large with a sitting area, a raised bed area and a nice clean bathroom with toiletries and slippers/dressing gown. Breakfast is not that exciting but cooked to order and served until 11am. Two free bottles of water supplied each day. The restaurant is ok, not too exciting a menu and relatively expensive for here. Many Russians stay here, so all menus are in English, Thai and Russian. But the food seems good and the service is quick. You can see right into the kitchen as you walk by and it looks spotlessly clean. The location, if you are looking for peace and quiet is spectacular, but it's isolated and a long way from the delights (?) of Chaweng! There are a few small Thai restaurants that also sell water etc just up the road at the back of the Kanok Buri hotel.
A few things they need to look at. Firstly, they advertise wifi all over the hotel. It might be there, but is useless. The signal drops every few seconds. Don't know what their setup is but it doesn't like Apple devices, Facetime and iMessage hardly ever worked. Go up to the Kanok Buri hotel up the beach, buy a drink and use their wifi, a great signal and everything worked fine. They seem aware of the problem and say they are doing something, but if it's important to you I'd check before you go. The hotel is also a 15 minute walk to the Samui ring road where you can pick up one of the local tuk tuks, but apart from that, either hiring a scooter or an expensive taxi are your only options for getting around. It's a pity the hotel, unlike most others here, don't run a free shuttle to Nathon. One other thing, when I checked out, I discover I am charged 10 baht, not a lot, but it is a bit mean in a hotel of this price, for each sachet of nescafe I used to make a coffee in the morning!
Overall, I would recommend as a not too expensive as most way to enjoy a private pool for a while. Fantastic for a quiet beach holiday, but it would be expensive on transport if you want to get out and about in the evening.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are lovely but more expensive. But no rooms are more than 30 seconds to the beach

We stayed in the resort with our 6 and 2 year old boys. The private 2 room villa with pool was perfect seclusion for us. The room was clean and new with two bathrooms.

The hotel reception staff are helpful and friendly but the rooms and reception do not have that much to tell you about what is on in the local area / attractions etc. The rooms only really have a list for room service and cost of breakages.... more local area stuff would be good as I searched online and found great local information - but I had to take the time to do it.

The kids room is clean and bright and welcoming. The free kayaks are excellent and the ocean is very flat so safe for the kids. The beach is stunning and quiet. We went for a quiet break without kids club as we wanted to be with the kids. This was the perfect choice as the hotel was so peaceful and relax.

The hotel does cater for mainly Russian clientele. This was fine except for the fact that our son couldn't make friends with the others kids in the resort.

The food in the restaurant was probably the one area that we found weaker. It was ok but not brilliant and the service had some odd aspects to it such as kids meals coming later than grown ups (even when asked for the other way round).

But don't let this put you off the resort as the breakfast is lovely and the resort is just a stroll down the beach from other restaurants to give you some variety. Turn right out of the resort and the first resort is the Buri Konok which has great food, then there is Big Johns Seafood which has fantastic food and entertainment on a thursday night. Nikkis is a more upmarket place to go for cocktails on a sunday afternoon.

Well worth a trip is a taxi ride to Sunset Beach to sit at the beach cafe and watch the sun go down and eat the best thai food we had in 10 days. The cost of the taxi and food is the same as a meal at the hotel restaurants. And it is such a stunning place - watching the sunset over the Gulf of Siam.

So in all the hotel is beautiful and fantastic value for money. I recommend you go straight away as it is still very new and clean, which is great.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is at the end of the resort paths - so you don't get people passing by - and one with the high hedge that secludes the private pool from other guests.
