“nice resort in a secluded area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Stayed 3D 2N at this resort, a nice place to chill and relax... the bungalows are very bright, as it has huge glass panels which can be covered with curtains for privacy. Spacious, clean, very nicely designed. The bed is comfortable, clean and crisp linen. There is nothing much near the resort, but one can take a taxi to the Nathon Pier or Cheweng for shopping or just to sample other restaurants. The restaurant at the resort seems to cater for westerners taste though, didn't quite taste like authentic Thai.... but the restaurant and lounge area near the pool is nice and has a relaxing ambiance to it. The beach is not too wide, but somewhat private. There is no spa at the resort, but masseurs can be called in by the hotel... alternatively, there's a small spa about 10 mins walk from the resort. There are mountain bikes available complimentary of the resort.

We stayed at the resort for 6 nights. It was part of a month long honeymoon. The resort really is gorgeous. We got it as part of a 'Groupon', which was a great deal. The bungalows are perfect. They are spacious, clean and decorated nicely. It's wonderful to wake up and sit out on your deck staring out at the ocean. The pool and bed area is spectacular and offer picturesque views of the ocean. The food and drinks were both tasty. We had dinner on the beach one night and it was a beautiful setting with delicious food. On Saturdays, they have live music and a D.J. Then, on Sunday, they have a brunch which turns into an all day (not night) party. Make sure you get your spot by 10:00 a.m. ish on Sunday as people from other resorts pay to come hang out there for the day. It's a vibrant and fun atmosphere. The rest of the week is pretty quiet. There is a gym on site and there are bikes that you can take. About a 5-10 minute walk down the road (go right out of the hotel), there are a few stores. You can buy some wine, beer or alcohol there as well as snacks. There is also a little 'restaurant' (maybe a little hut with food and tables is a more accurate description) that you can eat at. The food is pretty good. There were quite a few tourists eating there. It was a very relaxing experience. We have great memories from there. Oh, make sure you get a massage there too...It's done outside with the beach as your backdrop.
I would recommend going to Koh Nang Yuan, while you're there. It is a BEAUTIFUL island, the prettiest I've ever seen. Stay over night if you can. If not, take the snorkelling day trip. There are two ways to get there. One is by speed boat, and one is by Ferry. We took the speed boat, which was not the nicest experience. Very rough seas. And, you get drenched in water. If you do go on speed boat, insist on sitting up front. Or, take the ferry. It's just that the ferry takes a longer to get there so it cuts down on your snorkelling time.

We visited Nikki Beach Koh Samui in September 2011 for the second half of our honeymoon. We spent the first half in Bangkok and were a bit tired of all the sight seeing and walking around and were looking forward to relaxing on the beach.

I spent the extra money to get the beach front bungalow (not exactly beach front, but pretty darn close - you are just in one of the two bungalows closest to the beach, probably about 20 yards away). So worth it...

The resort was AMAZING! It was nearly empty, when we checked in, there was only two other couples there. One of the couples looked like regulars, the other was a relative of the owner, so we were basically the only customers there. It felt as if we rented out the whole resort for our trip.

The pool area is so beautiful and there are so many different areas to lounge in. The staff was so friendly, and with so few guests, they were always attentive to our needs.

The bungalow as the highlight of our honeymoon. My wife actually started crying when we first saw it. Words cannot describe how impressed we were with it. Extremely comfortable...

Sunday buffet is like a big party; that is the only time it seemed to be busy. Lots of good looking people, good music, great food and drinks.

It is a little far from Chaweng Beach, I'd say about a 30-40 minute taxi ride, so if you plan on hanging out more on that side of the island, Nikki Beach might not be the best choice. It is perfect for couples who want a peaceful, romantic getaway.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your experience at Nikki Beach Bungalow Resort! We are certainly happy that you enjoyed everything. It was touching to hear about the emotional response from your bride when she first laid eyes on how your suite was arranged in "Honeymoon Style!" Your comment regarding the fact that we are located on the other side of the island from Chaweng is interesting, we strategically opened Nikki Beach here in Lipa Noi because we wanted to offer an elegant yet fun environment away from all the noise and "backpacker type" activity on the Chaweng side.
We are in great company on this (The Amazing Sunset) side of the island, what with all the other upscale venues that have also chosen to operate on this side of Koh Samui as well.
Thanks again and we hope to see you again some time in the future!

The Nikki brand is well respected for its famous parties and patrons, however in Samui it is a little different. The place is great for lounging about all day and sipping cocktails by the pool. Prices are on the higher end of the scale but it goes with the brand.

The setting is very cool and modern and the people who go there are the same. However leave the kids. They have great sun sets however as soon as the sun starts going down everybody seems to leave and the place becomes relatively empty very quick.

We only had cocktails and snacks which was fine. The service was good. This place is ideal for young couples.

You know it's a good hotel when people from other hotels stop by throughout the day to check it out for themselves. The infinity pool is perfect, surrounded by beds to lay out on with bottle/food service pretty much 24/7. Service is top notch and the rooms are spectacular.

The beach is actually gorgeous. You have to walk out a few hundred feet in either direction but once you do you'll realize you're the ONLY one out in the ocean.

It's located on the quieter side of the island which is OK because you can spend all day relaxing and then Taxi or scooter out to the nightlife.

Room Tip: Get the massage. It's the best one we had in Thailand. Also get a 3 course dinner delivered to y...

This was our first trip to Thailand and thanks to our stay at Nikki Beach we will definitely be back! We stayed for 10 nights at the end of July. The whole resort is beautiful, picturesque and perfectly designed. The bungalows are fantastic and if you have the beach front bungalows the views are fab. The staff are all so happy and helpful and just can't do enough for you. The management team - Bruce, Eddy, Jacob and Lenka were all so helpful and friendly and always made a point of coming over to chat and tell us about the island, where to visit etc and took time to find out about us too. The DJ and musician were excellent - great music everyday and what a talented musician! The food was absolutely amazing and the drinks..............definitley the best mojito's on the island. The Sunday brunch lived up to it's reputation and was awesome. Breakfast in the bakery or in our room was always fabulous too. Location on the island was great for us but for those who are looking to just walk out to shops, bars and restaurants then you'll need a taxi or hire a moped as there's not much in the area. It's only 25mins taxi ride to Chaweng and Lamai but to be honest, after visiting both, Lipa Noi is definitely one of the better places to stay - tranquil and beautiful without the sewer smell! We would definitely recommend the Island Tour, Fisherman's Market on a Friday night, the private dinner on the beach at Nikki Beach and the Thai Cooking Class at Nikki is a must - what a fantastic day we had. Overall it was the perfect destination for us and they have definitely got it right. Thanks to everyone at Nikki Beach - we'll be seeing you all again soon :)

Room Tip: Beach View Bungalows are great but they are all lovely
