“Take your time and take lots of photos”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

This isn't for everyone - it's not the biggest or well stocked Butterfly park, you could easily walk around in a few minutes and not notice very much.

If you slow down a bit and wait for the butterflies to come to you or settle on a flower there are plenty of wonderful butterflies to see and plenty of photos to be taken.

Entry is pretty cheap, if you stay nearby it's worth a couple of visits in different weather/time of day.

“Was quite disappointed”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

We stopped in there on our trip around the island. The welcome was good and that was about it.
There only seemed to be about 4 different kinds of butterflies. The insects consist of a dead taruntula, a couple of giant african millepeeds, and a few scorpions.
I like to suport these types of ventures in places I go to, but I felt until they actually get some insects worth looking at it's a waste of money.

“Don't visit if you're affraid of insects”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

A lot of dead butterflies hanging under a big net covering a slope that hosts the butterfly park. Try to go earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon because it tends to get really hot.
If you like butterflies or bringing kids along its worth the visit.

“Great attraction”
Reviewed April 25, 2012

We stumbled upon this new attraction on Koh Samui after reading reviews on the existing Butterfly Garden and decided we'd check this park out instead. You will not be disappointed here. The Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom imitates butterflies' natural habitat in the park's large enclosure. The park is beautifully landscaped with tropical plants, trees of all sorts, and small waterfalls. You can witness the various butterfly life cycles in action at the park all the while having mature butterflies flying around you. In addition to seeing thousands of colourful butterflies, the park also has different insect species for viewing, including: millipedes, a tarantula, scorpions and a bee house.

The staff was very friendly and our guide provided us with very good knowledge during our tour on the different insect species we were looking at. Once the guide tour was complete, we were left to explore the park more on our own. The grounds are very well kept and the park is quite tranquil. At the main entrance, there was a young playful monkey who likes to take people's things, so hang on to your valuables. The park also has clean toilet facilities on site. The park is located a short distance east of the Namuang Waterfall entrance. This attraction would be good for any age visitor.

The entrance fees in April 2012 were $200Baht for adults and $100Baht for children and this included access to the butterfly and insect park with a short guided tour. Their brochure also indicates they have an option to include a monkey show, but the monkey show was not available the day we visited the park. They also offer transport to and from various parts of Samui for an additional cost.
