I did not know what to expect but the owners have been wonderful. Brenda has been my main point of contact and done everything to make the stay perfect. I was going to stay at the Intercontinental but decided to give this a shot at 1/4 the price. My friends are at the intercontinental but my prefer this place. Aside from saving a great deal of money, they spare no expense to ensure you stay is lovely.

Room Tip: They have rooms further away from the road - it is not a busy road and they may be less noisy - but...

It's not easy these days to find a bit of paradise on Koh Samui. Our last visit to the island was 23 years ago, when there was no airport, the roads were still unpaved and the touristic development consisted largely of a few simple bungalow resorts for backpackers dotted around the beaches. In fact we were prepared to be dismayed at what has been done to this once-idyllic island. Luckily we found Sibaja Palms Sunset Resort! This beautiful place gave us just what we wanted: peace and quiet (there are just 6 units and - being off-season - we were the only guests most of the time), an unspoilt, paradisical sunset beach (no parties!), but with the standards of comfort and service we now enjoy in our middle-age! Brenda was very welcoming and always happy to assist with information, bookings, recommendations, transport etc. Having the pool and the beach more or less to themselves, even our teenage kids were happy!
There are plenty of great places to eat nearby. The roadside cafe does good lunches, "The Island View" beachside restaurant is perfect for sunset dinners, Also to be recommended: "Lucky" in Nathon (best-ever spicy Thai salad) and a small inexpensive restaurant beginning with "N" (I forget the name - ask Brenda!) a couple of km anticlockwise, past the snake farm. You really need to rent a car if you stay more than a couple of days. We really enjoyed a snorkelling trip + lunch on the island of Koh Tan, which Brenda organised for a reasonable price.
If you want nightlife - go somewhere else! Otherwise I can heartily recomment Sibaja Palms for an unforgettable holiday. Samui has changed beyond recognition but Taling Ngam is still unspoilt and well worth visiting.

We had never been to Thailand before and our first stop was Sibaja Resort in Koh Samui. The owners, Brenda and Wilfred, were more then welcoming and Brenda went out of her way to make us feel at home. Nothing was too hard for her and was willing to help with anything at any hour of the day or night. The rooms were very clean and stylish and the pool was always clean. If tours or bike/car hire is your interest, Brenda will happily make any reservation for you and get you the best price. If relaxing on the private beach, away from the hustle and bustle is your interest, this is the perfect place for you. Definitely recommend this resort to all my friends and family.

We were lucky like the many reviewers before us to stay at this beautiful place and experience the non touristy side of Koh Samui. The resort is a lovely small resort with stylish rooms, the resort set right on the beach and a simply delicious breakfast. Both Brenda and Wilfred really make your holiday special.

It was wonderful to see the busy areas of Bophut and Chaweng on a scooter and then return to the tranquil resort to swim, explore the beach and relax in the lovely rooms.

We were particular happy we chose this place as our son got Dengue fever from Chang Mai, when we sadly were on the train derailment and ended up stuck in the jungle for hours. Brenda and Wilfred took us to the hospital when it was clear he was very sick. They were such generous and caring hosts and they made our trip so much easier. Brenda even packed a breakfast of her so delicious home made yogurt and museli for my husband to bring into hospital for me!

Would we stay there again? Absolutely.

Recently we stayed at this hotel for 11 nights. My family and I were really satisfied with location, service and apartments. The main merit of this hotel is its location. The west seashore of Samui is not well explored by tourists that's why there is a pure clean waters and nature silentness in this area. The hotel is not big and consists of four apartments and two villas. All required info is presented at hotel site. During our staying at Sibaja we were welcomed by the owners with great hospitality. Wilfred and Brenda, native Dutch, assisted us along our being on Samui sincerely and outstanding with high European quality and warm friendliness. I recommend this hotel for couples, families and those who want to forget urban cities and civilization. In case you miss something Wilfred and Brenda do their best to solve any of the problem you may stumble in.
Summary: quiet and peaceful place, welcomed and hospital owner from Europe, crystal ocean, miracle sunsets.

Room Tip: All apartments are the same. Tip or recommendation, in case you want to see the entire island rent a...

We were lucky enough to stay at Sibaja Palms Sunset Beach Resort located on a quiet area of Ko Samui which we thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms are beautiful, large, have many nice features and are centred around a small swimming pool. AC is effective, as are the ceiling fans and high ceilings. The beds are extremely comfortable and each room has a furnished deck where we enjoyed a full daily breakfast. The beach is an easy one minute walk away. Unfortunately you need to negotiate your way through many rocks to get to a suitable swimming area. That being said, the water is refreshing and enjoyable. The beach area in front of SP is one of the best in the area. A highlight is the deck upon which are lounge chairs and umbrellas-a perfect area for relaxing, viewing sunsets, getting a massage or watching the locals bring in their water buffalo for a late afternoon cool down. This is clearly a quiet area of the island! Brenda is a lovely lady who was thorough, helpful and became a nice friend. We certainly enjoyed our chats with her. She provided fine recommendations on local restaurants of which there is a variety of delicious food in all price ranges. Brenda took the time to take us to hospital and interpreted to enable us getting the required medical attention. Wilfred was helpful as well providing many DVDs; a friend enjoyed an MMA training session with him. We were disappointed to spend only 4 days and would easily have spent a much longer time. We highly recommend Sibaja Palms to anyone!
