My wife and I had dinner at La cuisine. We experienced a fantastic French cuisine and a warm welcome and great service.

I had the foie gras (terrine) which was fantastic. I was quite surprised to find such a quality foie gras in Thailand, in Ko Samui. It wa smuch better than in many places I have been in Europe. The black angus was perfectly cooked, the cepe sauce was very good as well as the vegetables.

My wife had Saint Jacques, she loved it and then cod with a truffle sauce. She loved it. The chef changed his receipt to accommodate my wife's state. The atmosphere is simple but very cosy. It has this local atmosphere with great French cuisine.

We will go back !

Faultless food and charming service.

Well worth the detour if you want something a bit different, or a break from Thai food while on samui.

My wife and I came for a 7 night Christmas break at the Intercontinental Baan Taling Ngam, having exhausted all the food permutations at the hotel, we'd wanted to try something different. How glad we were that we found this little diamond in the rough, just 10 minutes walk into the village with such good reviews on trip advisor.

The food was amazing, and the fois gras was outstanding. The owner has it flown in weekly from France.
The restaurant itself is very modest and lacks the glitz and polish of a five star resort, but the food was five star, as good as anything, if not better than anything served at the Intercontinental.

I'd read a couple of comments complaing that the prices were high. But put into context that import duties on wines in Thailand are prohibitive, and given the quality of the imported produce, I believe the prices were very fair indeed.

We've already reserved to go back for our last night in Samui.

I struggled to find directions online, so if you are at the Intercontinental, walk down the hill from the guard house, and turn right after 200m, in front of a Muay Thai gym. Continue for about 500m until you get to a T-junction, turn right and then La Cuisine is on the right hand side.
