The Five Islands Restaurant is a beautiful setting for a sunset beach Wedding. Despite the challenges of organising a wedding in Thailand from Australia via email. Colin and his team ensured that every detail was taken care of and organised with a minimum of fuss and to my exact request, in fact they exceeded my expectations.

The setting itself is naturally stunning however the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and anticipated the guests needs, the flower arrangements beautiful both in the restaurant and those for the beach ceremony setting. We were entertained by fire dancers, baby elephants, traditional Thai drummers and dancers not to mention our fun DJ - I would absolutely recommend them.

Many thanks to Colin, Dom & his great team for a truly memorable experience.

Great place to watch sunset and to relax. Food is better than average, but not cheap. Nevertheless a must see for sundowner and to escape from other more busy places. We liked it!

During our recent vacation to the lovely Koh Samui to escape the big city (Bangkok), we discovered this hidden gem on the quieter side of the island. It is well worth the trip from the main tourist strips especially for those looking for peace and tranquility. This restaurant has a lovely open air thai style pavillion or you can also sit at tables directly on the beach. The view of the surrounding islands and the crystal clear water, makes for a truly relaxing time. We ended up going back to the restaurant 4 times in the span of one week for lunch and dinners.

The staff at this restaurant are extremely attentive and clearly well trained. Most staff members have a good level of English and the ones who don't, are still just as attentive and very friendly. The owner Colin, is also a very relaxed host who takes the time to visit each table to greet the guests.

The food was excellent in terms of taste and presentation with generous proportions. Seafood was always fresh - we assume since they are right next to a fishing village! They have a nice thai and international menu - both styles cooked very well. We love the open kitchen where you can see the skilled chefs preparing your food. While at this restaurant, take a moment to look at some of the lovely antiques and collectables that can be purchased. We couldn't resist and purchased several items to bring home with us.

If you are visiting Koh Samui, visit this lovely restaurant. We will definitely go back - it is now our favourite restaurant on this island.

We were attracted to The Five Islands Restaurant by the reviews on Tripadvisor and the excellent repute of the restaurant on the island…
Let’s start with the positives:
• The location is excellent. On a quite beach with stunning views of the Five Islands. It is a complete break from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Koh Samui;
• The set-up of the restaurant is stylish and tasteful.

But we were disappointed by:
• The service was friendly but inadequate. Too long waits between courses, lack of regular attention to the tables and I had to get up and go to the bar to ensure I got the bill after a 15 minutes wait;
• The food was average. The flavors were bland (which is hard to achieve in Thailand) and the Five Islands Rolls (a signature side dish of the restaurant) tasted like uncooked dough balls… Not at all what we had expected.

Judging by the earlier versus the more recent review on Tripadvisor, The Five Islands Restaurant has seen better days… Let’s hope they get their game together again, as the place undoubtedly has great potential!
