There are so many distilleries in Scotland, it's difficult to choose where to go. This one is definitely worth it. Lovely grounds, friendly staff. Good whiskey if you like the smoky Scots variety. A good way to spend the afternoon or morning.

This is the first distillery we have visited which has been free. The guide made the visit very interesting and he certainly knew his stuff. The tour was short but long enough to find out what happened in the distillery. At the end there was a free dram which always goes down well. Worth a visit.

We were staying with friends who lived only 2 miles from the distillery so we did not have far to go.
I was expecting an old building steeped in history. Which Glenlivet is not! It is a state of the art very modern high tech business. The tour was free, there are many throughout the day. We had a short wait, which was good it allowed us to grab a snack in their very nice café and browse there gift shop.
We visited several distilleries, and the guide at the Glenlivet Distillery was the best of the lot. Very informative, answered what ever questions were asked and fiercely passionate about the whisky produced.
I am not an avid whisky drinker, but I must say the 18 year old, matured in a sherry barrel was the nicest whisky I tasted whilst in Scotland, so of course I bought a bottle!

Was very impressed with both the tour & the visitor centre. Finally learnt how to drink whisky, have been drowning it with 7 up instead of a small amount of water.
The gift shop was well stocked with a good selection & the Glenlivet whisky on sale was much cheaper than l had seen it priced in shops.
We only visited one distillery while in the area but really enjoyed our visit to Glenlivet.

Only the second distillery I have ever visited and I am no whisky 'guru' but this was a family visit and everyone including the kids enjoyed the visit, the staff were 1st rate and very helpful. We also visited the café for a break and the cost was also very competitive and came as a welcome surprise also as we will all have been to the over priced visitor attraction café in the past. In summery a good place for whisky people or a family on a day out.
