Seitan Limania Beach

My wife is writing about the beach itself which is amazing but it's not easy to get to since there is zero signage. The locals don't want too many tourists going here.

Exciting the airport you want to head right towards the big mountain that has the antenna on it. The road does wind around and there are some signs that point towards small towns. You want to head towards Chordaki and then Akropoli. I think there maybe a sign for Limania. You want to keep the mountain with the antenna on it in front of you and eventually go around the right side of it. If you are going to the left you going the wrong way though there are a few left bends that get you up part of the hill as you head around the right side of it. Eventually as you pass along the right side of the mountain you will have to drive thru a small town where the road can only fit one car at a time so go slow here. IMPORTANT: Soon after the town the road splits and seems to go left continuing around the mountain but this road will start to head up hill leading up to the antenna tower and away from the coastline. INSTEAD take the right at the fork which goes a little downhill and heads now towards the coast. You should be heading west to the coastline and eventually towards a white church. Now the road will get scarily twisty and downhill. Go slow and take your time on the turns (no guard rails). Eventually the road just ends and there are a bunch of cars parked. Find a spot somewhere along the road and put your E-brake on. Grab everything you want to bring to the beach and head to the right to get down. There's a little dirt road on the left which doesn't go anywhere, don't go that way! Head right and you'll start to see a footpath people take down to the beach. You definitely need your hands at times so don't carry a bunch of stuff and wear shoes! Would not recommend for kids or elderly, but if you are fairly fit you'll be fine. Bring water and food! No restrooms, no trash cans. Respect this natural beauty!

Incredible drive to an incredible beach. The hike down was definitely as folks described (no flipflops, not great for children nor the elderly) but the natural beauty was even more impressive in person. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday and it was already pretty full.
There was a few groups of guys drinking beers, but being sloppy with their trash and throwing their cigarette butts around the beach. >:|
If you have the privilege of visiting here, do respect the small space and clean up and preserve the beauty!!
It's carry in/carry out since there are no trash bins. When we got there, the food guy (see photo) had not arrived but we saw him on our way out and I totally lamented not buying food and drinks from him.
Enjoyed swimming and sun bathing; one of our favorite things we did in Crete ❤️

Me and my wife went to SL beach which is beautiful but we didn't know that you would have to drive down through a very curvy road which is really short but it seem so long because of the height and view ! I'm a bit scared of heights so it was probably more exciting that not would be to a normal person , then to go down there is fine just a rocky hill ! Down there is amazing , it was worth it for sure !!

Only bad thing is you gotta get there early to find a spot on the small isolated beach after a 6-10 minute walk downhill

Beach is stunning, but path is dangerous. Don't go with small childrens or with a baby, or if you have bad legs. And wear good shoes!
