“Great value, friendly staff, lovely food”

Booked for 1 night, in a dog friendly room. Had our own entrance. Room was very clean and spacious. We stay out a lot in dog friendly inns and hotels and this really was top mark. The staff were very friendly and so too were the customers. Our dog is a great ice breaker. We ate there for our evening meal and obviously the breakfast. Wide choice on menu food was delicious and hot. Very big car park too. Would definately recommend

We have walked past this pub many times when we have been staying in Eyam but have never eaten there. We arrived quite late one lunchtime but were warmly welcomed. The meal was a good pub meal and the service very pleasant. Although it was late we did not feel rushed. Will certainly visit again when next in Eyam.

Arriving in the village for a 1 week stay we decided to eat at the Miners Arms just for convenience, this proved to be a good choice . The welcome was warm and high chair quickly provided, seats arranged as there was 8 in the party with 2 small children. The service was quick and very pleasant and the food hot and tasty, we are delighted to reccomend it to all.

Had a few beers at Miners Arms in early July locals seemed to be quite cool but stand offish ..beer nice had a half on both nights...lovely cosy ambience and. Yet there was something missing..Aside from that the pub felt really old and had cool furniture. 3 stars service 5 stars old time ambience

Having just returned from touring southern France & northern Spain, my partner and myself called in last Sunday lunchtime, after seeing advertising on the main road. We decided to eat in the restaurant, rather than partake of the hog roast. We both ordered salmon served on a bed of spinach. It was excellent, far surpassing many of the meals we had in France & Spain. The salmon was delicious, as were the vegetables served with it. We chose the lemon pavlova for a dessert (1 shared between us). The portion was huge, and the taste was divine. The service was also excellent, with all staff being polite and attentive. Highly recommended, and we will definitely go back!

I stayed here with two friends Friday and Saturday nights of August Bank Holiday weekend. We were very warmly welcomed at Friday lunchtime and shown to our rooms immediately. I had Room 3 which was bright and airy. The bed was not very comfortable but I slept OK. Could have done with a hook in the bathroom to hang clothes etc and the towels were rather thin and well used. We ate in the dining room on the Friday evening, fantastic choice of dishes. I had fish cakes, delicious and quickly served and well presented with salad and new potatoes. Breakfast choice very good, could have had full English (9 items) but chose only two. Would stay here again, friendly staff, good service and clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Room 3 bright and airy

We went to The Miners Arms about 10 years ago, and thought the food was passable and the staff not very friendly. However, as we were staying in Eyam again we thought we'd give it another chance as it was just down the road.

We'd booked a table and so went to the restaurant entrance and told the publican we had booked a table. Without even looking at us, he just grunted, "Go to the bar, I'll see to you there."

The bar was surrounded by - presumably - very loud locals, and we couldn't get near the bar. We asked if we could simply go through to our table and order from there, as the restaurant was deserted. The publican was very abrupt and rude and clearly didn't want us to go through. He said that we couldn't order drinks in the restaurant and would have to go back to the bar if we wanted any drinks.

We were all completely taken aback at how unfriendly the publican was. We asked again if we could order our drinks with our meal, but were told that we couldn't, so we decided to leave.

We went to The Fox House a few miles away, which was fantastic - friendly staff, great service, and delicious food.

Our advice is, simply, avoid The Miners Arms like the plague!!
