“Lovely. Simply Lovely.”
Reviewed November 18, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We stayed here for two nights and had a welcome and relaxing break.

The hut is immaculate and finished with nice ornaments and a selection of books.

Rachel greeted us and after a little tour of the hut and facilities, left us alone to enjoy our holiday. We didn't see her again until we handed the key back, and although she is lovely it was nice to feel like we had the place to ourselves.

You can't fault the facilities and that makes it a perfect glamping experience. Oh and the breakfast is a real treat.

Eyam itself is fascinating and beautiful. As it was a quite November week we felt part of the village rather than visitors.

“Amazingly Romanic Retreat in the Country”
Reviewed November 16, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

My sister bought us one night stay at The Hut Eyam as a Christmas present this year. We decided we wanted to go when the weather was changing to Autumn so we could be cold outside and warm inside.

We arrived and were greeted by our lovely host Rachel, who made us feel welcome from the start. We were a little early for check in, but it wasn't an issue to drop our bags and change into our walking gear. Rachel was incredibly helpful describing the best walk to a pub and back, which we found without issue.

The surroundings are beautiful. Eyam its self is a very interesting village with some lovely little craft and foodie shops to peruse. The surrounding countryside is lovely and not packed with people (at least it wasn't in October, even though it was a perfect weather weekend!). We walked from The Hut to a pub called The Barrel Inn and back again. We stayed out all day, but you could do the round trip in an hour if you're a good walker.

We arrived back to The Hut and were welcomed with a lovely warm room with all the finishing touches that you could want. I'll go through them now...

INSIDE THE HUT -
A perfectly sized, snuggly, warm double bed - perfect for two! There are blankets for the bed and more thinker ones for sitting outside.

There is a digital radio, little side lamps and bedside tables.

There is a heater if you need it, but as we learnt, the log burner is more than sufficient. It kicks out an amazing amount of heat, so you won't be cold or run out of wood. It adds to the snugglyness of the whole place.

There are walking books, reading books and maps. There is also box of games to play, which is a lovely touch.

You'll find wine glasses and a bottle opener too!

OUTSIDE THE HUT -
There is a lovely picnic bench and a fire pit outside the hut. We lit it and ate our picnic dinner with some wine outside with blankets and the radio playing... it was truly romantic. You'll also find a perfectly formed breakfast basket on the bench in the morning, which is just the cutest thing to wake up to.

BATHROOM -
It's not next to the hut and you don't have to go in the bushes... it's up the garden in a "proper" building with electricity, a hot lovely big shower, normal toilet and fluffy towels. It also has a fridge for your food, kettle, cutlery, plates/bowls/cups/glasses and a sink with cleaning products. It's fully functioning and warm, just don't forget your torch! ;)

Overall, this is one of the most romantic and cosy places we've ever stayed and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something different in a beautiful setting. We only live in Sheffield but it felt like a world away and would defiantly go back again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay Rachel! :)

“The absolute perfect, cosy little getaway!”
Reviewed October 11, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Our trip began with an adventurous 9 point turn and 150m reverse down a hill as our sat nav thought the place was further up than it was, leading us up a rocky road which eventually turned into a narrow path. However, when we arrived, we were shown to the lovely Plankbridge shepherds hut by the lovely and friendly owner. Inside was the most beautiful cabin, extremely well presented and looked just as cosy as the photos looked and much larger inside than it seemed.. It had a lovely, comfortable double bed at one end, shelves and tables with gorgeous little trinkets and books and even a little pot of those 'love hearts' sweets as a cute little addition for our romantic mini-break. It had a magnificent wood-burner stove near the door which we couldn't wait to light and kept us more than cosy with the flickering flames at night. In the mornings, we were delivered a breakfast hamper containing fresh yoghurt and berry compote, bread rolls with homemade jam and locally sourced honey. We had a jar of granola, pint of milk and a flask of coffee too. Perfect for the cold morning. Next to the owners beautiful house is the shower room, sink and toilet. Extremely clean and new-looking with fresh, soft towels made it all the better.
We both loved staying here and will recommend it to anyone who listens! We may even come back when its snowing and freezing cold just so we can fire up the wood-burner and snuggle down for the night again with a bottle of red! You really must stay here!!

Liked best: The design and cosiness (if that's a word)
Liked least: The walk in the night to the toilet but this just made it more of a camping type adventure.

“Lovely little hideaway perfect for couples”
Reviewed September 1, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

My husband and I had a lovely couple of days at The huteyam and the owner Rachel was so lovely and very welcoming. We wanted a break from all the busyness before the school's started back again and the hut was perfect for us to just chill out and spend quality time together. The hut is small but contains everything you need - comfy bed, board games and books, torches and even a log burner (although not recommended for Summer, it gets very warm!) We were pleasantly surprised that the hut had electric points so we could keep our phones charged (if we wanted to) and the washroom was clean and well looked after too.
The highlights of our stay had to be the lovely breakfast that Rachel prepared for us each morning. You get a hamper with breads, yoghurt and cereals delivered to the hut each morning at a time that suits you. Eating this outside on the picnic bench in such lovely surroundings was a great start to the day, and even when it rained we could eat inside and still enjoy the atmosphere of the place.
Recommendations for local places to eat are provided by the owners and very well selected - we definitely ate well on this holiday! And Eyam is a very nice little village with enough to do for days where you don't feel like going further afield.
I can't think of anything that I would have improved about our stay at the huteyam, other than I wish we had got chance to use the wood fire outside, but there is always next time! Oh, and take some insect repellent if you are prone to being bitten - hazards of the countryside that can't be avoided really.
Thank you Rachel for a lovely stay! I hope we will be able to make the trip there again one day soon.

“Highly recommended stay”
Reviewed August 23, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Rachel was very welcoming and friendly she went out her way to be accommodating and was extremely helpful. The hut was roomy, clean and perfectly quirky. We had use of a fridge, freezer, shower, a fire with wood and kettle with teas and coffee. The location was a short walk from Eyam main street, set in quiet scenic countryside.
