“Great food made freshly for you.”
Reviewed August 18, 2013 via mobile

We chances upon this cafe on a wander through eyam. Lots of cyclists outside it with their bikes. The food was nice including the kids food. ( my picky kids had a nice ham sandwich with no crusts and a bacon and sausage sandwich. Drinks were nice too and staff friuendly.

Thank you for your lovely review; we do try and make all the family feel welcome (as a mum of 5 it's important that we cater for little ones!).
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Eyam.

“Excellent coffee and tasty, light home-made cakes”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Called in for coffee (twice) today while visiting Eyam for a long walk round Eyam and Abney Moors. It's a beautiful, modern, smart cafe with excellent seating inside and outside with parasols. Lovely fair-trade coffee with no bitterness and good strength. Our home-made cakes were delicious. The owner told us that she loves baking - that's evident from what she bakes, so tasty and light. Came back after our walk for more coffee and ice-cream. Bought more cakes from the excellent selection to take home. We could see lots of tasty looking savouries too but missed out on these as we had made a picnic at home. We'll be making this our regular stop when in Eyam or nearby.

I'm very glad you enjoyed your first visit so much that you stopped by again the same day, and such lovely comments too.
I enjoyed our chat about all things baking & hope you've now discovered the joys of a Dan Lepard
recipe!

“Super Cafe”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We loved this cafe! It is a charming environment with good coffee and good food. We went there two mornings in a row, (for breakfast bap and coffee) as it was good value, delicious, and just what was needed after a rainy night in a tent! Highly recommended.

“very sweet”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

lovely staff, lovely food and loads of people stop there. everything is made fresh, called once in for breakfast rolls which are made with fantastic sausages and they are great! There cakes are delicious, however if you don't go and get them before the lunch rush you are very very restricted to what is available, which is the only downside.

Thank you for taking the time to review VG and your lovely comments about our food and cakes. It is sometimes hard to keep up with demand during peak season and occasionally the counter is a little emptier than I would like!
Our courgette & lime cake is so popular that some customers even call ahead to reserve a couple of pieces, knowing it sells out quickly at weekends!
Thankfully it doesn't happen very often and we are baking all day every day during the Summer.
