Couldn't fault the place. Wonderful food and good service. A lovely little restaurant and a great find. All meals were outstanding and the best we had while in Norfolk. Would definitely go back when next in Stanhoe.

Been here about half a dozen times now, with and without kids/dogs,grannies etc,at lunch time and in the evening and it's always spot on. I had the nicest fish and chips ever sitting in the garden last summer.Do remember to book though as it's usually busy.

We visited this restaurant for dinner on a Friday night. As soon as we arrived, we were made to feel welcome...we had our dog with us so were given a table in the bar area which is really nicely decorated & relaxing.
The menu isn't extensive, but has some excellent choices. I had the 'Perfick Pork Platter' which was pork cooked 3 ways, with some lovely veg & side purees. It was excellent.
We thought the desserts were a little on the pricey side at around £6.50 each & actually weren't blown away by the selection so didn't have one.
Overall, would suggest the restaurant is worth a visit, you would definitely need to book in advance as this is not a place you could just turn up & expect a table as it is clearly very popular & busy.
The staff are pleasant and welcoming and nothing appeared too much trouble.
We would visit again.

We found this superb gastro pub by accident the week before Christmas. Everything else was booked up as we made a last minute trip from Oxfordshire to my partners 93 year old mother in Norfolk. What a find! From the moment we arrived the service was excellent, friendly, warm and nothing was too much trouble. Because we'd booked late we were placed in a part of the restaurant that was draughty when the front door opened. However it was bearable and the place was otherwise warm and comfortable and the decor very contemporary and attractive. We were delighted when the waitress offered to move us as a table in the heart of the restaurant that had become unexpectedly free early. She was lovely and insisted on moving everything herself.

Then the food, we all ordered different things from the menu and all three courses for each of us were absolutely delicious. We are surrounded by a number of superb gastro pubs in Henley on Thames and this was as good if not better than a couple of our favourites. We will be back, again and again. In fact I can't wait for a return visit!

A group of nine of us enjoyed a meal here at the weekend. We all ordered different things and everyone was thrilled with their choices. I chose the mushroom risotto which was delicious. I tried my husband's duck which was very tender and juicy. The portions were generous and the flavours big. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Never been here before, looking for a place to eat ,on a cold rainy day we arrived at the inn with 30 mins to go before they stopped cooking, thinking oh hell bet they say we are too late,on asking we were welcomed in by a member of staff she was friendly and cheerful and told us no problem,we were shown to a table straight away, the place was full with diners,it was a nice atmosphere, clean tables and cutlery immaculate, and a log burner roaring away, nice decor, starters were fantastic hot and well cooked, mains was fish and chips enormous portions and best i have ever had ,the beer was fresh tasting, food is sourced locally,
the toilets were very clean and tidy and have disabled facilities the car park is large enough and has an overspill, area outside there is a smoking area, and beer garden
i cannot fault this establishment, and i will be back soon, and compliments to the chef

Room Tip: book early

I will not dwell too much on the excellent quality of the food here as many before me have done so already. Suffice it to say it is prepared with thought & passion & during our recent 4 night stay, we ate there 3 times. In fact I wish it had been 4! Breakfasts too are equally delightful with an amazing choice from the Full Duck's Bill, to Bacon & ducks eggs, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon & to my husband's delight, fresh haddock and egg and kippers available every day. There are only two guest rooms, but it was such a joy to stay here. We have travelled pretty extensively, both in this country and abroad, but this has to be one of the nicest places we have stayed in, thanks to both Ben & Sarah and their delightful staff all of whom constantly greeted us cheerfully and were happy to help at any time. Our room, End Room, was also a delight. Instead of the usual, forgettable hotel room, this was like stepping into a friend's bedroom. Again, attention to detail was much appreciated. Oil paintings on the wall, by a local artist were available to buy, tea & coffee was plentiful with fresh milk replenished daily in the fridge. Proper coat hangers were in the wardrobe and good quality toiletries of a sensible size which easily lasted both of us for four days with some to spare - ( thanks Sarah!) Slate coasters were on the bedside tables & both still & sparkling waters and fruit juices were left in the fridge for us. Even the "Service the room please" sign was a wooden sign to hang on the door saying Gone to the beach! Most importantly, the king size bed was extremely comfortable ensuring a good night's sleep after all the fresh air. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and in an excellent position for exploring North Norfolk - which we did!

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely & very similar, so I don't think it matters which one you have.
