Dining options: Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast, Late Night, Delivery, Reservations
Description: An award winning rustic-smart gastropub, serving the best in local produce and East Anglian ales. Friendly and efficient service perfectly compliment the incredible food served up by chef patron Ben Handley and his team. Norfolk favourites such as Brancaster crab, steaming bowls of Norfolk mussels, locally-smoked salmon with gingerbread are regular highlights; along with Chef Handley’s famous black pudding-scotched quail’s eggs. Sundays' roasts of local pork and Holkham Estate beef are widely regarded as the best along the coast. With two stylish bedrooms; there is always the option to enjoy a wonderful evening meal and super wines from the varied wine list, before staggering upstairs to unwind under the snuggly duck-down duvets. Booking is always essential.

Came here for dinner while staying in Burnham Market, 3 miles down the road. We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and the service overall was very good. The menu choice is excellent which makes decisions difficult but everything we had was delicious. The chorizo wrapped Scotch quails' eggs, a house speciality, were very tasty and the local lamb was fantastic, rich in flavour and cooked to perfection. The Duck compares very favourably with the much praised White Horse in Brancaster Staithe and certainly the food and the cooking are of a very similar quality. In fact, overall The Duck probably beats The Horse hands down!

Probably the BEST roast I have ever tasted.....and I've eaten some meals in my time!
The Salt and Pepper Prawns were excellent. We chose to have this particular starter between us.
This particular day, the roast was a choice of beef or pork. We both chose the shoulder of pork which was tender and sweet and to die for. It was accompanied by crackling (of course,) roast potatoes and the freshest of vegetables. A veritable feast and despite sharing our starters we had no room for desert.
We will definitely be returning in the very near future!

This resteraunt fits into the Big Plates Little Portions catergory, with vegatables you can count on one hand and "smears" on plates. If you like that then its fine. I just felt ripped off. Plus an average wait of over 30 minuets between courses unacceptable. If your paying top prices for a prenetious menu then they should at least hire quality waiters. Not likely to go again as was on holiday in the area.

We tried this restaurant because we were overnighting in the area, it was easy to find and came with good reviews.
We had no time to make a reservation, but turned up at 6.30 on a weds evening, were made to feel welcome and given a table. I would not recommend that you chance it as we had, because the place very rapidly filled with early diners who had reserved tables. We were just lucky!
Plus point one was the good vibe from obvious regulars who were eagerly anticipating their meals, and the overall relaxed buzz from them.
The staff were competent, friendly and attentive.
The pub style reception bar was comfortable, well stocked, and reasonably priced.
The menu was reassuringly not too comprehensive, with a more than adequate choice of signature dishes, without "trying to do everything for everybody". It would be a sad diner who couldn't find satisfaction here.
We would definitely come again if in the area to explore more of the menu.
In summary it seemed obvious that they know what they are doing and excel at it.
Book yourself a table! Very good value
