We had a fantastic stay in Pigna. The house is really wonderful. It has been luxuriously renovated and with great taste. It has all the modern comforts while keeping its medieval charm. The mix between modernity and history is just great!
Pigna is a charming little medieval village. It is hard to believe that such villages still exist at the present time, and you feel like you're going 1000 years back! The narrow streets form a real labyrinth in which we enjoyed losing ourselves.
The surrounding villages are just as beautiful, I especially enjoyed Apricale which is really stunning. I recommend renting a car so you can make the most of all the wealth of the area.
Thanks again, Rachel, and congratulations on your house and its incredible renovation!!
Always wondered how People lived in those typical little médiéval villages and now I know. Just great to discover the real Daily live in an italian house in the médiéval centre of a Mountain village.
You ll find Everything you need and lot s more in your liguria home. Don t hesitate and pack your luggage !!
really enjoyed our stay in your holidayhome. Nicely renovated with respect for the authentic character. Pigna and the other medieval villages in the surrounding are worth while visiting. Dolce far niente, la vita e bella!!
Built into the bedrock ( you can see it in the ground floor bedroom wardrobe), this 3 storey Medieval townhouse retains it's authentic charm whilst offering all the convenience of the 21st century. It's tastefully decorated, with lovely touches such as scented candles and luxury toiletries.
Travelling off-season, Pigna itself was fairly quiet, but there were bars and restaurants open. We tended to go out in the day on trips and have a wonderful Italian lunch out, and then come back and cook something fairly simple (using some of the welcome pack ingredients), split a bottle of wine, a watch a DVD.
I have to say that I loved, loved, loved the spa bath!
I loved the location, the place, the friendly locals, the food - just everything!
I've only been here for half a day but thought it was worth mentioning our wonderful this townhouse is. First off, even before you go to Liguria, Rachel gives you the most detailed guidebook there is. It'll make you feel like you have to stay for weeks. Then when you get here, Rachel gives you the most warm welcome and shows you around the house. She even has local food for you to try! Anyways, half a day here, and I've already cooked in the kitchen, which is stocked with everything you need, have taken a bath in the whirlpool tub with jets, and took a nap. Everything here is made of high quality including the toiletries she offers. Only here half a day and would already recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful, modern, and well-equipped place to stay in Liguria! I don't see myself exploring much outside of Pigna because with the restaurants and hiking in Pigna, plus this wonderful townhouse, I'll have plenty to do.
If you are looking for an authentic medieval Italian experience then this townhouse is the ultimate home base. We enjoyed a week in Pigna at Rachel's townhouse. As soon as you arrive the feeling of comfort and serenity overwhelm you. So much so Kate had to resort to a prosecco while soaking in the hot tub! We loved the townhouse with all of its 5 star amenities and home comforts. This is a mix of old and modern done in such a way that you can feel the 500 year history of the home while enjoying all the mod cons of today. From the finishing touches to the comfy bed and fluffy pillows - comfort is the key here. Not to mention the little gifts you will find scattered around just to make you feel that little more special. Pigna is the perfect base for exploring the nearby villages, the Riviera (Italian & French), the mountains and of course Monaco. Pigna, Apricale and Dolceacqua are some of the most interesting, authentic medieval villages we have ever seen. On a par, if not better than what you will find in Cinque Terre. And without the hordes of tourists!
We are already planning a return trip to Pigna to stay at Rachels and will definitely be recommending this little gem to all our friends.
Thank you, Rachel for a wonderful stay and a great Italian experience.

I stayed as a solo traveler for 5 days in this wonderful townhouse surrounded by 15th century architecture and art. Rachel made sure that the townhouse is equipped with absolutely everything needed for a wonderful stay. I very much enjoyed the luxuries the house includes like the spa tub, wondrously comfortable bed, and complete kitchen! This property would be great for honeymooners, couples vacations, girl's weekends, or family holidays. It's close to shops, restaurants, markets, and cafes, one of which has the most amazing cappuccino! I would recommend it to absolutely anyone.
