we go to Greece at least twice a year, this was our fourth visit this year so we know what to expect with the accommodation, and yes we were in the old block, although we booked before Christmas it seems booking early does'nt get you into the new block despite what the rep tells you. And these apartments are below standard even for Greece. Relaxing it was, in fact being round the pool was like being in the library, if any one spoke at all it was a whisper. The waste bin in the toilet was only emptied 3 times in the 14 nights we stayed, which wasn't very good especially when there was no wheelie bins any where to change them yourself. And on top of that the seating area where the rep held his meetings was directly outside our toilet window. Location was good, but will not be returning. Also brochure claims a cafe but there is'nt one.

Room Tip: Apparently the new block is more up to date, but how they are allocated is anyones guess.

We returned from the Litsa apartments yesterday after a lovely week long break. When we were shown to the old block my heart sank but yes they are a bit dated but were spotlessly clean and had all I expected in a basic greek apartment. It did get sun most of the day so air conditioning is a must. We would happily return here again if we wanted a complete away from it all break.Agios Nikolaos is a lovely fishing harbour ,we tried all the Tavernas and we had good food and service at all of them ,The Hidden Garden was a favourite with exellent fish and quick service.
We took the coastal footpath to Stoupa and spent several days on the beach there as it did get very hot around the pool.Set off early have breakfast at Mango ,on the beach and then homemade icecreams at Katerina's before you take the 45 minute walk back !
We would recommend both Litsa apartments and Agios nikolaos.

We were in Litsa Appartments for 2 weeks from 18th August 2013, when we got there we has paid for a sea view, although the room we were given was excellent, being very small I could only just see the sea, I mentioned this and was immediatly moved to a higher room with a better view of the lovely surroundings. we were in the new block and the room was clean, spacious and very well equipped...you even get washing up liquid, tea towel and kitchen sponge!!..the pool was spotlessly clean and all the paths, steps and seating areas were swept daily
there were no bins dotted around, but I think this was because of the cats that lived at the back of the grounds.
Aghios Nikolaos is a tiny, quiet fishing village, just a few tavernas serving excellent food, and 2 supermarkets for you daily staples,
Greggs taverna is run by a family, all who work tirelessly to make your holiday perfect, Freda, Greggs mum is always on hand to cook and serve delicious snacks and drinks and is a fountain of knowledge about the area
I had an allergic reaction to something, and needed medical attention and Freda took me to the medical centre and explained in Greek for me and got me the treatment I needed, even though it was Sunday night at 9pm!!
I would recommend this holiday for couples with no children as there is not much for little ones to do, just a relaxing break!!

Room Tip: The new rooms are more spacious, but people I spoke to staying in old block had no complaints apart...

We tool our two youngest children here for a two week holiday in August 2012. We did do a review at the time but it has disappeared from the site so we are retrospectively writing another. The location of the Litsa is superb if you are seeking a relaxing holiday in an unspoilt fishing village. We found the pool to be clean and adequate with no problem in getting a sun bed and umbrella at any time. Having read previous reviews we asked at booking for 2 rooms in the new block. On arrival however we were given rooms in the old block which were not adequate. The rooms were badly in need of updating and repair. We were fortunate to be offered a move to the new block for our second week. The room was fabulous and we would gladly return but are unable to book this through the travel agent. It seems to be pot luck as to whether you get new block or old. As frequent travellers to the Greek mainland we expect basic but clean accommodation but the old block really is oppressive. However, if as reported by another reviewer travel agents are squeezing owners for lowest prices possible then we can understand that the cost of a refurb may be prohibitive for the owner. Aghios Nikolas itself is a lovely village with some teally harbourside restaurants and very friendly locals people. It is a good base to explore parts of the Peloponnese. Our children were not bored at all and were made very welcome in the village. We are staying nearby this year but in different accommodation. We are finding it increasingly difficult to get a package to unspoilt areas such as this and Kardamyli where we stayed in 2011.

Stayed @ the Litsa three times now 2009, 2011 & 2013, if your looking for a very quiet holiday with a real greek feel stay here. The apartments are great, old block by the pool a bit dated but thats greece but the new ones across from them have all the mod cons, they are about a 5 min walk for the village centre/harbour which has about 8/9 taverna's all serving great local food at very good prices plus a couple of bars serving Ouzo, what more can you ask.
This is real Greece if you want somewhere that's all dancing a singing with beech beds & pedlos dont' go to Ag NIk but if you want a quiet relaxing holiday, good food & great people go to Ag Nik.....

This was our third stay at the Litsa in Aghios Nikolaus in four years the difference this time was that we were in one of the newer apartments at the rear. Unlike the pool side apartments that are old, somewhat dilapidated and small these apartments are spacious with an excellent sized balcony, in the evening, you can watch the best sunset in Greece. We travelled with Manos a Thomas Cook company and had no problem with the journey or the transfer. In a testament to the Greek spirit in difficult times there is a Gyros takeaway opening at the harbour ( I can hear the moans of disapproval from the regular ag nik travellers but just the job if you overstay in Aggie and Sockratis bar and miss the main three harbour tavernas i.e. stay out after 11pm) The little taverna on the corner of the harbour that has been closed for several years is opening soon and if it lives up to its earlier reputation should be worth a visit, if not any of the harbour side tavernas are excellent for quality food and value.

Room Tip: Ask for the newer apartments

We stayed at the LIsta appartments last week and we had a great stay. Luckily the appartments are not suited to children, great news for us as we wanted a peaceful holiday. Book the appartments if you like quiet surroundings, good food close by and stunning views. If you are a family with children go to stoupa where there are lots of facilities there.

We will return again in May and September next year. The appartments are basic and clean and well worth a visit. Good location for walkers like us and cyclists. Some good historical sites close by and best of all not really much night life, just good Greek food and lovely Greek people. If you want to party and want happy hours go to Rhodes or some other resort. Pick here if you are looking for a peaceful break.
