“A Very Pleasant Stay”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

The ideal agriturismo - country/farm tranquility but close to the towns/cities around Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore. Good location from which to explore the area around Novara and other Italian Lakes. Would recommend the town closest to La Capuccina, Borgomanero. Great restaurant there. Ask Rafaella for the name. The rooms with names of local vines, are at ground level and are a nice blend of modern and rustic decor. The rooms are well appointed with spacious bathrooms. On a clear day you wake up to gorgeous view of Italan Alps in the background.
The setting is lush with well appointed modern pool with guest access to the cows, chickens, goats an ducks that become part of the kitchen source.
Breakfast is plentiful with fresh fruit, cereals, cakes and great coffee.
The fixed menu provided us with some of the best meals we have ever had in Italy. Traditional dishes and wine. Great value and service. A note about the dogs. The most gentle and affectionate Alsations ever. Have no fear!
A most pleasurable stay. Thank you Rafaella and GianLuca for your hospitality and great food.

“Arrogance included in the rates”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

Visited recently , we booked a family room - no chairs, no table to use, but was provided 'pronto' by friendly 'Lola'
After 2 nights we were transferred to two double rooms, although at a much higher rate (40 % -not disclosed in advance)
Owners wife not so friendly and didn't understand English ( or any other language) so good....
In the farmyard, we came across dead chickens which our children were not too happy about, but otherwise ok; property was clean, rooms (except family room) were good, simple & pleasant decor, pool was good, restaurant and dinner too
Not so hygienic were the pigeons walking all over the breakfast tables, the fact that we had to change rooms and were expected to pay more provided a not so pleasant departure, and could probably have been amicably solved had the language barrier not been there; everything else was ok_ albeit an air of arrogance permeats the owners . They have their own children, but she did not appear to be children friendly???)

“Slow Food & "Pigeons for Breakfast....."”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

Dined there recently, the quality of food and wine was excellent, using often own 'home grown' products-Tasting Menu à 32 € was reasonable, portions adequate - recommend

Service, however, wasn't quite as good but ok - Owner & Chef recommends choice of wines, although the choice is vast especially with the local products - top rating!

Breakfast - although quite good choice incl own Goats cheese, was let down by warm ( not hot ) coffee and sometimes slow service -and Doves( pigeons) walking on the tables , plates & food ??? Not quite hygienic......

“the splendour of a Menu Degustation”
Reviewed September 3, 2011

by pure fluck, I was one of the few to taste the menu degustation designed for Sat 27/08/11
it was a delight of authenticity, artful emphasis on core ingredient taste, knowledgeable walk through flavours that followed one another with harmony as did the textures
Nothing was left to chance however it all seemed so simple and true to the produces behind the dishes
Thanks a lot GianLuca, it was a real treat!
