“meal with a view”

a great, relaxed place to eat really good food. A fairly limited menu but that is an advantage as everything on it is very tasty and well made. Their sharing platters are great for lunch and if you are lucky enough to be there on a warm sunny day the back garden, bordering right on the Solent is fantastic. Service, food, view and ambiance all perfect for a really enjoyable meal

“Great food and relaxing view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

We have been here for lunch 3 times and have had a very enjoyable experience each time. They serve the best smoked haddock chowder I've ever had and there is a nice view across the Solent.
Birthday lunch here with ages from 15 months to 74 and while the menu is limited every meal was fantastic. Staff are extremely accommodating and pleasant, all requests for menu substitutions were met with a smile and, after a quick check with the chef, fulfilled.

“A Cuban Thing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

Having left the Edinburgh Festival behind to spend the Bank Holiday weekend in Cowes I was looking for something different to do by Sunday night. I had pretty much exhausted the usual, albeit small list of decent places to eat in Cowes, when I was invited to the Little Gloster by two of my good friends. It’s a Cuban ‘Thing’ I was told; we arrived early to be greeted by the charming hostess and found ourselves a nice spot at the end of a line of tables. As we ordered cocktails the place filled up with an interesting mix of people, young, old, families and groups of friends. Our waitress was attentive and helpful we did not have to call her once during the evening; she would cheerily appear whenever we looked like we might need more food or drink. The wine was extremely good, testament to the number of empty bottles at the end of the evening. The Seafood Tapas was a perfect accompaniment to the wine and added to the relaxed summer feel of the whole event. As the sun went down and the music chilled I was pleased I had made it to the Cuban ‘Thing’. It was for me what the Isle of Wight is all about, good food, good wine, good weather and good company. I would certainly recommend the Little Gloster as a place to enjoy a Sundowner.

“99 percent”

Visited last evening, having booked a table. Perfect meet and greet, offered inside or out for pre dinner drinks. Having taken our order, we were advised our table was ready as we finished our drinks. Perfect timing! The food was top notch, although the Chefs idea of medium cooked steak, and mine did not agree. No matter the meat was very tender. Fo r dessert the Affogato is a must. So simple but very good.
