Hotel Giardino Giamperduto
Ranked #1 of 10 Bernalda B&B and Inns
Reviewed October 24, 2012

From the start, sending lots of emails and getting immediate replies, made me feel this hotel was the right one. AND it was.
Delightful and charming owners and attentive and very caring staff, who paid attention to all our needs, from where to go, where to eat and which beaches to visit and sites to see.
The room was good, comfortable beds, nice bathroom with plenty of clean towels and little extras. They remembered my birthday and gave me wonderful flowers! What hotel notices such little details?
The pool just perfect for swims early morning and evening.
Delicious breakfast and we also had wonderful antipasta on the late night we arrived.

Bernalda town is a bicycle ride or walk away with good restaurants.

Thanks to all the kind, friendly and caring people at Hotel Giardino Giamperduto

From the second the gates opened and we were warmly greeted by the wonderful hotel staff, we felt we had entered a corner of paradise.

Hotel Giardino Giamperduto has an incredibly calm, serene atmosphere, yet at the same time is friendly and intimate. The gardens and swimming pool are beautiful, the lounge and dining room cosy and relaxed and our room was airy, elegant and spacious, with its own private seating area.

The whole place is so well thought-through, from the tables and chairs positioned around the gardens and public areas allowing guests to find their own private corner, to the fleet of bikes made available for exploring the village of Bernalda. Nothing is too much for the hotel staff, who are discreet, charming and go out of their way to make guests feel at home.

The experience is so wonderful that it is hard to tear yourself away, but the village of Bernalda offers a fun contrast, with a buzzing nightlife and wide selection of bars, cafes and restaurants that never seem to close.

We were only at Giardino Guamperduto for 2 nights, but would happily have stayed longer and will definitely return as soon as we can.

I visited Giardino Giamperduto in August of 2012. I spent approximately 3 weeks there, with 2 children (9 &10).  Traveling from Canada, I wasn't really sure what to expect. I have travelled to many places, and never stayed anywhere less than  at a 5+ hotel. I have also been to Italy many times to visit family. This year I was truly looking for a different experience, than staying with family.  A  hotel that would come close to what we are accustomed to, without compromising the hospitality, charm, art, and beauty this small town offers.   Giamperduto provided all of these things, and more. We felt truly at home here. As soon as I walked through the gates, I was impressed with the charm of this beautiful Country Inn. So many influences were present, Italian , Greek,  French, and old classic American, architecture and design. It was awesome. The staff was amazing.  Your every wish was their desire, literally. They were able to accommodate our every request, including traveling two towns over to obtain Merlot wine, because I had requested a glass with my dinner. This was impressive. Also, Giuseppe, the cook was able to accommodate every unusual request we made. Given that North American customs differ, albeit in small ways, but none the less, it was these small concessions that meant the most to me. Sonja, Giuseppe, Graziana, Michel, and the cleaning staff treated us like family. The owners were incredibly friendly, and felt like longtime friends.
Professionalism, attention to details, immaculately clean room, gorgeous pool, meticulously manicured grounds were all exceptional. However, what made our stay truly memorable was an atmosphere of true European charm and above of all, the sincerity and hospitality of the staff.  It was unforgettable.  As a result, I can honestly say that my stay at Giamperduto has exceeded any 5+ hotel I have ever stayed at. Giamperduto remains a 10 for me and the children. A final note;  upon my arrival there was a "welcoming" letter placed in my room by Sonja, the manager. It was addressed to me and the girls. The first line said, "Welcome home", I  smirked when I first read the "welcome home" and thought to myself, really?, we'll see??
As it turned out, Giamperduto was welcoming me home because that is exactly how we felt and how they made us feel....at home.  They exceeded every expectation.  If you're looking for a  discreet, quiet and personal service vacation, surrounded by beauty, and European charm,  this is the place to be.
Thank you, Giamperduto. I am forever grateful.
Hopefully, we will see you next year.

We just loved this hotel. Truly it was because of the amazing people who work there, they genuinely care for you to have a great stay, they did things that go above and beyond what we'd ever expect (like arranging a car service to pick us up from the train and calling the driver once we were picked up to ensure we were okay). The Hotel Manager, Sonja is quite special and my 2 year old daughter developed a huge fondness for her immediately - helped by the great assortment of toys they had in a cabinet to make her feel at home immediately. And Giuseppi, their chef, after one day, he knew what each of us liked first thing in the morning and promptly brought it to our table. We were there during a heat wave so the very cool pool was a highly refreshing treat and the end of each day. Just an overall very peaceful place to spend your holiday. I'd highly recommend it!

Arrived in Bari without luggage after flying from Houston. Alitalia was incompetent at finding and delivering it. This hotel called them many times, without me even asking them to do this. When they could not track it, the hotel owner went to Bari airport, found my lost bag and brought it back to the hotel. Unbelieveably kind! This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and it is so nice, comfortable, the grounds are spectacular. I would recommend this to anyone. The family that owns it runs it so well and are extremely hospitable. The breakfasts are great too!

I started working in Pisticci Scalo so I have been staying in Bernalda. In this hotel I have been staying in this hotel for a month. Previously I tried all the other hotels around this region but none of them made me feel as comfortable as this place. Staff and the owners are absolutely cool. They always make me feel like I am a member of the family. I have an orange tree in the garden of my room, can you imagine?

It is so quiet to stay here in the daytime, you only hear the birds and feel the perfect smell of oranges. In the same time, its at 5 minutes walking distance to the center. So it makes its location perfect.

Plus it has a pool that none of the hotels has.

If you need a hotel in this region, I would reccomend you not to hesitate even for a second.

Room Tip: All the rooms are cool enough.
