My overall experience was quite good at Star Garden. The hotel was reasonably priced and quite comfortable with a good bar/restaurant at the top level. In terms of the room I was given itself it was nicely decorated but the bathroom was poor in comparison. Unfortunately, the window also looked out onto a construction site, with workers on eye level. Due to a defective shower head, I had flooding in the bathroom and the air conditioning unit wasn't working properly. What was most impressive however was the response from staff. Within minutes, they had cleaned the room and upgraded me to an executive suite with minimum fuss. Some of the best customer service I've experienced. The executive room was much nicer in comparison with a wonderful view and nice bathroom and effective air conditioning. It certainly made my stay much more pleasant.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing the construction sight which means less privacy and much more noise

stayed at the jr suite for only 1 night and wished i had stayed longer. we were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well maintained this hotel is. from the rooms to the lobby and other areas. the jr suite rooms are very modern, clean and well appointed. and for the price, i can say it is best value in lucena. there were signs of age but they clean it so well you can hardly notice. the wifi is fast too! its location is perfect for business trips being situated right in the middle of the town. a convenience store is just beside it. easy parking also. but despite being in the city center, it was dead silent in my room. you couldn't hear all the loud jeep and tricycles outside the busy streets at all. well done star garden. staff are accommodating and flexible to our requests. breakfast was also good enough. I will stay here in my next visit to lucena.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The service was excellent. Prices were very reasonable. However, there were a few minuses: no box of tissue paper in the room, breakfast quantity and taste need improvement, traffic noise can be heard on the 5th floor and, finally, even at it's highest setting (30 degrees centigrade) the A/C was too cold.

Room Tip: If you are elderly get the standard or twin rooms WITHOUT the bathtub. the edge of the tub is quite high and the tub itself is narrow. Better to avoid injury from tripping and falling.

Situated in an area that most travelers (locals and foreigners alike) just pass through to get to major tourist destinations in the Bicol region, this hotel is pretty decent at a cost of just around php 1k (USD25), breakfast included.

Location is excellent, near ATMs, convenient stores, cafes, restos, church, bakeshops, etc.

The standard room was spacious enough for one person (or even two), the bed and pillows comfortable, with amenities not expected for such a bargain price (snug bathrobes, slippers, bottled water/tea/coffee, bath stuff, etc. - all good for 2 even if only one person was actually occupying the room).

The bathroom was clean and not at all cramped, with separate shower area. I really appreciated the shower curtain with lots of pockets to put all my bath essentials - wonder why some hotels do not provide enough shelf space in the shower for all the things that their female guests need to bring/use in the shower?

Breakfast was ok, served in the smallish dining area at the ground floor of the hotel. The sky lounge is bigger but tend to get too noisy in the evening. Service can be pretty slow so please be a little patient with the staff who try to do their best for demanding guests.

All in all, I had a quietly relaxed stay in this hotel. I don't think a lot of people know about this place, which is such a shame for this is surely a great find!

The hotel is clean and presentable. It is located near Chowking near the central district. It might be difficult to find it because of some one-way streets. The easiest route we took was the road from SM. It has enough parking space and a 24-hour security.

We stayed in a twin room and it is pretty decent and spacious enough to move around. There's free wifi connection as well. Although the restaurant lounge is small, we were seated as soon as we got down for breakfast. Filipino breakfast meals comprise the usual menu.

We didn't get the chance to check out other amenities because we checked in late in the evening already and checked out early the following day, but we were able to sleep soundly during our stay.
