“Best hotel Lucena to offer”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

During my 2-day business trip in Quezon, this was the hotel recommended to me as noted Lucena's finest hotel to offer. Though the grandeur of the hotel facade, can tell that its been there for ages and needs some modern renovations. Though room we got was practical for a 2500/night for 2 person (you may opt a queen / 2 single beds). Staff at lobby up to bellboy was courteous to us, i also requested for cabinet hangers and extra towels for no charge, delivered prior i ended unpacking my stuff. Aircon was soo cool, bathroom we got was clean & fixtures were working (and the even supply of hot/cold water). Food was great & costs practical too. Breakfast was inclusive and apart from the buffet of bread, pastries & coffee, they also serve per individual plated their famed longganisa rice meal. Also an on-going ball that night so alot of cars parked, suggest to park near the hotel which is at the back. Over-all stay for me is great and may go back on my next business trip in our quezon sites.

They have decent cool rooms, nice staff, LG CRT TV, nice pillows, towels are requested, shower was repaired, poor water supply (it is weak when some other rooms are using it), shaky dilapited daewoo refrigerator, dusty fake flower on cheap vase, table with unrepaired scratches, cheap breakfast, lousy wifi. DONT expect to be a Queen.

Room Tip: take the ground floor

I went to my cousin's wedding and to all couples who are looking for a place to get wed, this place IS HIGHLY recommended. Everyone was pleased with the food. Now I can say you get what you pay for. We stayed here for a night and 2 days in total and or rooms were really expensive though some of needed some renovations.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, choose the east wing.

..At its Finest..

Queen Margarette hotel, Lucena Quezon. Just by hearing the hotel's name, an "ooh sounds royalty-ish" thought will pop into your head. Don't worry. You are not mistaken. I, together with my relatives, have stayed in this hotel for a couple of times already. We usually check-in during night time as this is the nearest hotel from the highway leading to Bicol since that is where we are bounded. For the several times we stayed in this hotel, it still did not change. Checked in, settled our things, slept. I only had a short time to look at its room, really. It's because I needed to catch some sleep. The room is good. take note.. GOOD. (as in like average). It's like a standard hotel. No "OOH" factor. Breakfast is not bad. They give longganisas. So, overall, average stay.

Room Tip: take a room in the ground floor. their parking looks like it's not that safe. so, if you take a...

The Queen Margarette Hotel is an old hotel and it shows. The most obvious example of this was the bed, which sagged like a hammock. The furniture was old and worn and my girlfriend and I joked that it was her furniture from when she was a child and her Mom threw it out before the hotel grabbed it.

Check-in and check-out were fast and there were no hidden charges for the room.

The room looked clean, but it was all tiled and after walking on it with wet feet it became apparent that there was a layer of dirt on the tiles. While my girlfriend was getting ready in the morning a large cockroach crawled out of the bath towels stacked next to the sink. One insect is not an infestation, and I know it is difficult to keep any place completely bug-free. The shower was broken, but to be fair we only stayed one night and did not have a chance to give them the opportunity to fix it. One would hope for the price that they would be more on top of maintenance. The window mounted aircons were noisy but they got the room cold.

Breakfast was a meager selection of baked goods (4 options including plain sliced white bread), a large bowl of fruit cocktail that closely resembled the common canned variety, some cornflakes and powdered-orange drink. There is a set selection of 4 menu items to augment this. The set items were okay, although not worth the price of admission.

My girlfriend and I chose the QMH for one night because of its location next to the highway. It was convenient because we were returning to Manila the next day. I cannot say my stay there was horrible, although the cockroach ruined it for my girlfriend, and I have no basis of comparison because it is the only hotel in Lucena I visited. I would not recommend it, but maybe it is average for the area.

This hotel is actually located on the outskirts of Lucena City, Quezon Province. It is mainly used for weddings and large events. The owners could care less about visitors staying in the rooms. The money is in the big events. As a result, the rooms are expensive, the staff poorly trained, the food not very good, the pool dirty, and no other amenities. It is a 15 minute drive into Lucena CIty itself. There are better alternatives in Lucena City than this place.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here make sure your room has a window that overlooks the garden and not the high...
