The cottage is beautifully presented and is very well equipped we were suprised at the amount that was provided especially in the kitchen. Also the extras such as the toy chest, books, games and dvds were a nice surpise and kept our son entertained. The beds are very comfortable we all slept very well and there is plenty of storage in each of the bedrooms too. The cottage has easy access to the beach and a few nice places to eat (pig on the hill is a must and only a 15 minute walk) The view from the bedroom and lounge is fantastic (even in March!) cant wait to go again

We had a lovely 5 day stay in old salty cottage . A great cottage with heaps of character and charm. It had only just been taken over by new owners and I'm sure they aim to make it even more homely than it already is. Our 8 year old girls loved it in the garden and on decking. Would love to go back in summer when weather is good . We still enjoyed sitting on decking with a glass of wine and a blanket!
West ward Ho is a great seaside resort . Girls loved arcade . Great walks along seafront and loads of fab places to eat . Also had some great meals in ,sat around big table in kitchen .
Can't wait to go back next year .
Just what was needed for us. Although the cottage isn't big we found it was spacious enough to do our own thing for a relaxing break away holiday, while being able to come around the dinning room table together to chat, eat, play games or do some artwork. The walk to the beach led you through the quaint village. For this time of the year walking along the beach front was wild and woolly, just perfect for blowing the cobwebs away. Darlington Glass and Clovelly were a close drive away along with other interesting places. As Australians on holiday, Old Saltys provided a great base for exploring North Devon.
We had a thoroughly good week and the cottage suited 4adults and two small children. It was well equipped and pleasantly decorated and very clean. We could sit in the lounge and look at the view which in October when the weather is variable was excellent. Our only comments were lack of Wifi which is useful to find attractions when the beach is not an option ( a note in the book where you can access free Wifi would help) and the hot water in the shower which wasn't thermostatically controlled and went from hot to cold unexpectedly. That aside I would highly recommend the cottage.

The cottage is in a fantastic spot overlooking Westward Ho! During the day you can see the beach and at night it's lovely with all the twinkling lights. A 10 min walk (down a steep hill) takes you to the village where they have everything you would expect in a quaint seaside town. It's about 2 miles to Appledore which is another lovely little place, well worth a visit for fish & chips. The beach in westward ho is great with pebbles & rock pools at one end and sandy at the other. The cottage has a deck under which we stored our kayak and surfboards. It also has it's own parking which is wonderful. The cottage itself is beautifully furnished, very nautical and pretty. It has every piece of equipment you could need and is great if you have young kids as there's a high chair, travel cot & safety gate plus all kinds of cutlery, bibs, cups, plates etc. The king size bed in the master room was extremely comfortable and there are blackout blinds at all the windows so the kids don't wake up at 6am! There's a thoughtfully filled toy box plus a bookshelf full of books, and the footstool in the lounge is full of Dvd's! The whole place was spotless and I can honestly say we will be visiting again later this year! Thanks for looking after us so well.
