My Labradoodle & I booked 4 nights/5days at the cottage and we had a wonderful stay. The cottage has been recently renovated to a very high standard. The furnishings are all new and in keeping with the cottage, Laura Ashely throughout.
The kitchen is very well equipment with all the utensils. At previous cottages I have always brought along some spare just incase however at Fairway there was no need. Plus the kitchen and downstairs cloakroom (which has a shower) has under floor heating. Which is just fantastic when your cooking your bacon sandwiches in the morning. Also Chris(tine) surprised me with 6 bottles of Stella & cans and milk in the fridge which was a nice touch.
The cottage has wood flooring throughout which makes cleaning easy especially with a dog and garden is a court yard style with stone walls to keep your pouch safe outside. There is an outside tap & shower that can be used to clean your dog after its romps around the beach which isn't listed at the cottage but makes a massive difference to dog owners life. With nice paving and access for storage inside the garage which has parking and additional for another 2 more cars if needed. There is also a nice viewing area where you can see the lovely sea views and beach while you have a sip of wine. This area has grass which is useful if your dog is fussy (dog owners will understand)
The double bed was comfy and the linens were fresh and comfy with views out to the beach &Westward Ho. I did not need to use the twin beds however the room looked just as nice. Now the bathroom reminded me of the bathroom in the Bellagio in Las Vegas I stayed in. The shower is walk in style that's huge with over head and handle showers and his/her basins and its huge & very luxurious.
Access to Westward Ho and the Blue Flag beach is very straight forward from the cottage taking only 10mins. A public footpath down is right by the cottage and steps down at the start, so access maybe more difficult for less mobile people however you can take the path on the road this will at 5mins to your walk. Be aware it's down hill all the way so it's up hill on the way back up!
I will booking again and have recommended the cottage to my family and friends. I just hope I can get my dates booked in after this review because this is by far the best Cottage I have stayed in thats pet friendly.
