I found this part of the town to be very nice and relaxing. There is a tourist information center right by the main square, with a friendly lady who gave me lots of helpful information about the surrounding area and the town itself. There is a great pub with karaoke on certain nights right in the heart of the promenade, and there are many restaurants and cafes in that area.
The sea is beautiful from that perspective, and stretches out as far as the eye can see. I found it to be very charming, nice and well-kept. If you happen to be in the area, it's worth having a look - but I wouldn't go out of my way to go to the town just for the promenade: it's not that special. ;)
