i stayed here on 29/05/2012 for one night only as i had some urgent business in colwyn bay the following day. the owners are very friendly and helpful however the room was one of the worst i have ever stayed in. it must be one the limits of what can be classed as a single without contravention of trading standards. i only paid £38.00 for it but i just wish they would be honest and say when booking that it is not the biggest or best equipped room in the hotel. i was in room 14 and it had what was called an en-suit bathroom, again this may be true if you are under 5' 6" tall and 8 stones in weight. it was not possible to go to the toilet to pass solids as my legs would not fit in the small gap between the toilet and sink so i had to sit at an offset angle in order to evacuate the contents of my lower bowel. the shower suffers from a similar problem, i tried to shower but couldn't turn round or wash properly so i abandoned it and opted for a chemically based shower. as i said i could sort of live with this as i only paid £38.00 but the breakfast really was the ultimate insult. i paid upfront for it at a cost of £8.00, yes that is correct £8.00. i was expecting a banquet fit for a king for that price consisting of everything you can thing of, when what came is available at any roadside cafe for £3.00. i am not saying dont stop here but dont have room 14 and dont, repeat dont have the breakfast, there is a morrisons nearby go there and eat like a king for half what the ashmount charge. also be aware that checkout is 10.00hrs prompt. i also couldnt get theWI FI to work, it could have been my laptop but as soon as i plugged it in upon returning home it worked as normal and there is no desk/table to work on anyway.

A last minute decision to visit the Llandudno Victorian festival found us in North Wales and looking for a bed for the night. Anticipating that Llandudno would be unable to offer us anything, we decided to try Rhos-on-Sea and came across the Ashmount, situated just a few minutes walk from the promenade and with a small forecourt for parking.
The room was clean and pleasant, nicely made up beds and a small ensuite. A small wall mounted tv and hospitality tray were provided also. There was enough floors space to put up our travel cot and still enough space afterwards to move round. The ensuite was perfunctory, with shower, toilet and basin. As a relatively short 5'4" I struggled to use the mirror over the sink, though husband (6'5") said it was the first hotel in a while he'd used comfortably, without having to crouch down to get under the shower head.
The only downside was the breakfast charge. At £7 a head we thought this was a bit steep, though would not deter us from stopping here again.

We were delighted to find this hotlel available to us late in the year and in a quiet street not far fro the promenade where we were to attend a conference the following day. We were in search of a groundfloor room (as my mother is disables) and we were really pleased to find just what we needed here. A friendly welcome awaited us and we were pleased to have a homely and peaceful place to stay. The breakfast room was spacious and the food (full English) is well recommended. We look forward to staying there again if we are in the area in future. Thank you Judith and Pete!!

Room Tip: Great find in a quiet location.

We stayed over for a one night stay on a Saturday night. The hotel was lovely & clean and the room, clean and a great size. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and welcoming and allowed us a late checkout as the hotel was quiet. We opted for a breakfast which was lovely, I recommend the full English. The room itself was excellent and we had our own private door so could come and go as we pleased. Excellent location, 2 min walk to the promenade then a ten minute walk into the centre. Would recommend The Ashmount for a lovely peaceful stay.

Room Tip: Excellent location, price and service

A nice quiet B&B in a quiet street a 100 yards from the promenade. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy, and the breakfasts superb. Pete and Judith the owners are lovely people and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would recomend the Ashmount for a peaceful stay to anyone who wants to get around this beautiful part of Wales,as Rhos on Sea has a good bus service.

We stayed for just one night and would not delay in coming back. The hotels location is excellent being a few minutes walk from the beach/promenade and equidistant from Colwyn Bay and Llandudno.
The room was excellent with very comfortable pillows and we had no trouble sleeping. The furnishing looked new and the bathroom spacious with a good shower and a bath!

Owner was extremely helpful and could not do more to make your stay a good one.

The only thing I did find a disappointment was that to add breakfast for both of us for one monring would cost £16. It is a little excessive at £8 each or it would have to be a very good breakfast!
