“Wow what a find- cosy and romantic”
Reviewed December 3, 2009

We stayed on a cold November night and were warmly greeted by the owner Ian. The log fires in the pub were roaring and provided much needed warmth. We were efficiently shown to our room "the bramble" it was truly gorgeous with sumptuous soft furnishings. The room was huge. We chose to eat our evening meal by the fire in the pub rather than move to the restaurant the food was lovely and really good value for money. Breakfast the next morning was served in the restaurant at a time convenient to us, and was just as good as the evening meal the previous evening. We will hopefully return for another relaxing stay.

Found this little gem on the internet. Beware it is not Leyburn, but if you do your homework, you will realise that. Found the two of us in the familly room- a palace with large lounge, double bedroom, large twin room and enormous bathroom. Nice touches like fresh flowers, sweets etc.
Food choice and quality excellent, Prices good. Fantastic breakfasts and friendly efficient service. And good real ale!
A great weekend retreat- we shall return!

A fantastic base for whatever you wish to do whilst visiting the Yorkshire Dales. The rooms were really nice, clean and spacious and the food was absolutely brilliant!

We stayed at the Queens Head for 2 nights whilst visiting our son who is training up at Catterick Garrison. We received a great welcome by all the staff and we were very happy with the modern and comfortable accomodation. The breakfast was fabulous and both times we ate in the evening, the food was fantastic and at a great price. We were told that local produce was used.

We will be returning to stay here again in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights in one of the 3 newly appointed rooms. These are an additional feature at the back of the hotel. Once you have booked in you can access your room from outside. Booking in was 5.30 which was a little unusual. I don't know if earlier check in could be arranged ?
From your room you could walk across the decking to the restaurant and choose from the bar snack menu or A La Carte. We ate there 3 times and it was always excellent. Service was good, quality good and wonderful views of Wensleydale.
The rooms were spacious, newly renovated, very well appointed and very clean.
We visited Forbidden Corner while we were there.
