We were choosing bora bora and moorea before our trip; however, we ended up by going to moorea and it was an excellent choice that we have made. We stayed in overwater bungalow and you could see different fish day and night. So, before you head to Tahiti you should watch "finding the nemo" and you would see how it matched. I could see sharks and rays traveled back and forth from my patio which was very impressive to be able to get to this close. While we were there we took a half day trip to swim with sharks/rays and had lunch in one of the island. While we were having lunch in the island, you could see rays were asking foods from locals over the beach side. The local lady told us that those are their pets. If you love the water, this is a paradise. The people here they don't really expect you to tip them but you could still do it if you think it's a good service. no pressure ~~ which is nice.

Room Tip: we were upgraded to the water bungalow but purchasing their membership $200. It would cost you ma...

We had the pleasure of visiting the Intercontinental Hotel in Moorea. We were in Tahiti 6 years ago on a cruise, and have wanted to go back ever since. We did that in early January and stayed for 10 great days.

The staff was exceptional, I want to especially single out Denis Masse for his exceptional service and kindness during our trip. He went above and beyond the call of duty in helping with all aspects of our trip, even though sometimes it wasn't necessarily his area.

The resort is great and the time we visited was perfect, it wasn't overly crowded, the pool area and beach were very peaceful and not overrun with people.

We stayed in Cabin 304 right next to the lagoon, step off the back porch and into the water!

I highly recommend the facility and the area for a relaxing vacation.

We stayed in this resort for 5 days and we completely fell in love with it, we had a garden bungalow with our own private pool and I much preferred that over a beach bungalow. The over the water bungalow is great in Bora Bora but I don't think I would book it in Moorea as they don't have the same effect. The breakfast and lunch was great at the resort but the only thing we were unhappy with was the dinner menu and the quality of the food, it just wasn't consistent and on several occasions the food was not up to our expectation. The staff at this resort are all amazing, very friendly, the service we received was impeccable everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable....Remember if you become a InterContinental Ambassador you receive a free room upgrade.

Room Tip: Garden Bungalows are the best. We booked a regular room and when we became Ambassadors they gave us...

Dear Guest,
Ia Orana from everyone in Moorea!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment and for your stay at our Hotel.
We have posted your message in all our departments and as you can imagine it has brought warmth to all our employees. As you noticed for yourself, Polynesians are very warm and genuine and hearing that they made a difference means a lot to them. Your comment is therefore great encouragement.
Finally, we are sorry to see that our restaurants were not to your liking.
We hope to see you back one day.
With my warmest regards,

This was a wonderful resort that offered about anything one would hope for. Even a chance to swim with their dolphins. I didn't do that, but had fun watching others each day who did. I stayed out on a overwater bundgalow and it was a beautiful place to hang out on the porch and mellow out.
One day I walked out to the street and walked down the street to shops...a pretty hot walk, but not too far from a fair amount of shops. I found a great jeweler right across the street who took the pearls I purchased on another island and made a necklace with them while I was in town.
If you are looking for a complete resort that offers everything you need to enjoy a wonderful island trip, this resort will make you happy.

Room Tip: I stayed out past the dolphin area over the bridge which was very nice.

We stayed here after 4 nights at another budget resort so initial impression was this was absolutely lovely and clean. We were given a glass of juice on arrival. Nice touch.
We had a few issues with the room which i wrote to the hotel about once we returned and I am pleased they responded in a timely and fair manner.
We had a beach bungalow which was great. Kids could swim in the lagoon and we could see them from our deck. They did not enjoy the lagoon due to the large number of "Spotted Worm Sea Cucumber" lying in the water. Wish they were not there....Yuck! (averse to anything resembling snakes). Seeing the fish was amazing and so was the dolphin sanctuary. We took advantage of the free snorkel gear and took a ride to the nearby island (Motu). Enjoyable. They had a buffet/dinner performance which was too expensive (Everything in French Polynesia is expensive) but we enjoyed the show from the outdoor location we sat. I will commend the dinner staff of that night who accommodated us and 2 other families by helping us celebrate birthdays. It was impromptu and they brought us cake and candle to blow. It was very nice of them.
The concierge lady was helpful too and gave us good advice. This resort is exactly as I expected and I would not mind staying here again.
(Note: No kids club. No shops open on Sunday or lunchtime. Shopping center is 10-15 min walk. Smokers are everywhere, even restaurant.

Room Tip: Beach bungalow #400 was quiet and great if you have kids. Would not recommend OWB for those with you...

We stayed here for 3 nights and explored the island of Moorea with guided jeep tours and dolphin/whale watching trips. The interior of the room was clean and the bathroom was recently renovated. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The resort itself is in mixed condition. The pool area has been recently renovated and is consistent with the InterContinental brand. However, some of the bungalows were quite aged on the outside, and showed signs of decay from the tropical weather. The resort is in an amazing location, very close to the sandbar where the tours take you to swim with sharks and rays. A few other guests actually kayaked out to the sandbar on their own, which would allow you to save the expense of paying for a guided boat trip. However, we also wanted to see whales (saw one breech off the east end of the island!) and the spinner dolphins (countless!) so we opted for the guided boat trip, arranged by the concierge with a local tour operator. A few other travelers said they got slightly better rates by contacting the tour operators independently, but we appreciated the convenience of booking in the lobby. You MUST take the time while in Moorea to travel to the Belvedere scenic lookout view of Mt. Rotui between the Cook and Opunohu bays. This view was worth the entire trip to French Polynesia. In addition, the Magic Mountain lookout is memorable in its steep ascent and precipitous perch overlooking the north lagoon. I do hope to return some day. We continued from here back to Tahiti for the final two days of our vacation.
