I just stayed four nights with Amanda Case at her lovely rural B&B at Harpley, in Norfolk.
This was a great location for visiting some of the areas attractions, such as Sandringham Esate and the glorious gardens at Houghton Hall. There are many respected homes and gardens in the area, as well as the historic town of Kings Lynn, with it's hanseatic buildings along the river Ouse, and Castle Acre abbey is also close by.
Amanda's house is newish, but built in the traditional brick and flint style. It's large, light rooms are comfortable and have good ensuite bathrooms. There is also a huge guest sitting room with French doors to the terrace, pictures, silver, flowers, a fire, comfy sofas. It's a perfect, quiet place to come home to after a day's exploring. There are three or four good local pubs in the area.
