We stayed for one night of our self drive holiday in New Zealand as we repositioned ourselves from Piahia to Rotorua.
We were warmly greeted by the owner who made us very welcome.
The suite consists of a lounge/kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom (shower not bath). What immediately strikes you is the cleanliness and order of everything within the rooms. The owners have gone to great pains to ensure that there is everything you need and it's all "standing to attention" in its place.
Fresh milk and a complementary internet voucher were also provided on arrival.
Outside is a small swimming pool and there is also an indoor spa pool which is open in the evening.
The motel was ideal for our needs and I cannot recommend it too highly.

A wonderful motel! The owners are very inviting and helpful. The rooms are very pleasant, and the facilities great. Location is very handy, a nice stroll to the beach, and handy to shops (including a minimart) and restaurants. Quite central to coastal region to explore beaches, parks and crafty Matakana. Relatively close to Omaha as well. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed again last month on our way north and again on our way back through. Love this motel as our halfway point when heading to the Far North. Loved swimming in the pool and having a spa bath in your own unit leads to a completely relaxing night. Love that you can get dinner from just across the road, we had roasts from the roast house and they were awesome and on our second night had dinner at the Italian restaurant which was nice also. This motel has everything you could need for your stay and the owners Robin and Dianne are so welcoming and helpful. We will see you again next time. Thanks again :)

Room Tip: We have stayed 4 times now all in different rooms and they are all great.

Snell's Beach is a lovely little town of beach houses tumbling down a hill to the beach. Our upstairs suite (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining and sitting area) came complete with its own deck, barbeque and outside table and chairs. Coming into town from the north, be careful to not miss the entrance way before the intersection. The pool was unfortunately closed (a frequent problem at motels in November). We bought groceries across the street (including fresh veggies at one shop) and barbequed, but the pub is a short walk away or you can order food (there is a beef dinner place you can order from). We walked down to the beach which is fronted by a park along the bay. Sections are set aside for family picnics, and there is a walking and bike trail along the beach side. The owner had suggested on arrival that we either drive south for the scenery and dinner places, or north to the village of Matakana. We chose the latter and went to the Matakana Vintry. In the morning, we got up early and the entire eastern sky was orange with the sunrise.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are quieter and two of them come with a view across the bay.

Thank you John & Ann for your comments, but our Swimming Pool is definitely heated and open from Labour Weekend (October 25th) to the middle of May. And for the rest of the year it is still always open .... but a bit cold !! The Pool, in it's beautiful sub-tropical setting, is a great place to swim or just relax and take in the views of Kawau Bay and its islands.

Always have a lovely time when staying here. Just a short stroll down to the beach or over the road for takeaways. We always enjoy going for a drive back to Warkworth to the shops or to the Matakana market on Saturday morning. Beautiful area of NZ to holiday in. This time the owners were away but had a more than capable person looking after us. Thanks again for a great stay.

We stayed just one night on our way south but I wished we could have stayed longer. The host was very friendly and is happy to give insight about the surroundings. The room (standard) was spacious and clean. Shops on the opposite provide everything you need. Snell's beach itself is very nice and in 10 minutes you can reach Scotts landing or Matakana.
