We stayed @ The Beeches for three days with relatives to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary. We had a wonderful time as Jo& Stephen made us so well comed and our stay so enjoyable. The cottage was full of character and charm. The rooms were tastefuly furnished and extremly clean. Breakfast was great, Jo & Stephen made sure that my Gluten Intolerance was catered for ( delicious Gluten Free Sussages!). They were very helpful to guid us with the local attractions. We really didn't want to leave!

We stayed at the Beeches Bed & Breakfast after cycling from Gorleston. When we arrived we were given fresh orange and lovely chocolate biscuits which was a very nice touch. The two rooms, bathrooms and the relaxing area are fantastic. We required transport and Steve was really helpful giving us taxi contacts. The breakfast was fan-tas-tic!!! everything and more you could want! If you want to explore North Norfolk and Norwich this is an ideal place to stay!

We stayed at The Beeches Bed & Breakfast for a 2 night weekend break recently and what a delightful place it is. Jo & Stephen are friendly hosts, there to ensure that we had an enjoyable time but not intrusive. The accommodation is lovely, spotlessly clean and homely. The location is very quiet being on the edge of a small village with fields surrounding. Our double room was well equipped and comfortable. The private bathroom was just outside the bedroom and there is further door which shuts off the corridor to the bedroom and bathroom from the sitting area making it private. The sitting room is available for the 2 rooms to use and a small fridge with bottled water and fresh milk is provided. There are lots of folders/magazines/leaflets providing a huge selection of things to do in the area. The cooked breakfasts were amazing - prepared fresh using locally sourced ingredients. Stephen & Jo catered for our need of a gluten free breakfast, and were aware of the cross contamination issues, using toasty bags to toast the gluten free bread in, as they have a friend who is a coeliac. Masses of choice and even gluten freecereals were available - what a change this makes. This was only our second stay in a B&B as we usually stop in hotels, however we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return again as we felt it was much better value. We paid £70 per night for our double room including breakfast.

We have stayed at The Beeches three times in 2011 and 2012 while working at the nearby National Trust property Blickling Hall and each visit has underlined what a lovely place it is to stay - I'd certainly schedule any future work around room availability! The overwhelming impression on arrival and throughout each stay is the owners' emphasis on comfort and cleanliness. The whole place is spotlessly clean and warm, welcoming and bright. After long and slightly chilly days in an out-of-season country house, to be met with a cup of tea, a warm room and the chance to have a long, uninterrupted bath is utter bliss. The layout is perfect for business travellers as the two rooms are private (you can shut off each corridor that leads to room/bathroom) but if you do want to sit down and talk over work matters there is a very comfortable and well-furnished sitting room between the two bedrooms. If I can farm out the kids for a weekend I'll also go there to stay with my husband, as it would be a great base for exploring Norfolk. The rooms have a very efficient wi-fi service, comfortable beds, heating if you want it and windows that open onto a quiet and beautifully-kept garden if you prefer some air. The nights are very quiet and dark in that part of the world so sleeping soundly is no problem. Breakfast provides more than I can eat with as much local produce as the owners can source and lots of choice - smoked haddock when we were there - and vegetarian and gluten-free options listed - as a beekeeper's daughter, I can also recommend the local honey they were trying out. The owners are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive, and clearly very much want your stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible - this comes across in the high quality of the food and furnishings, the overall cleanliness and comfort and the generous size of the rooms and the portions. Bliss!

Room Tip: If you are a bather, go for the one with the separate, large bathroom and have a long and luxurious...

The Beeches is located on the outskirts of the large village of Buxton, Norfolk, about half way between Norwich and Cromer.
We found the entrance on the second pass which is down a narrow, tall hedge lined drive ending at a closed five bar gate – which helps keep the cat safe from the road. Once through, we were met by a very pretty cottage, a walnut tree, a delightful garden, a small car park and a very friendly greeting. As one would expect in a place of this vintage, the staircase is very steep and narrow and the ceilings quite low – it all felt cosy, but not cramped. Upstairs are two rooms, well separated by a guest lounge with TV and all the information on the area one could possibly want. There is also free Wi-Fi. Everywhere was spotless and had clearly been completely refurbished not long before. The bed was big and comfortable, the room of a fair size and well equipped. We understand that one room has an en-suite shower and the other a private bathroom. There seemed very little (if any) noise at night and only a little in the morning. The breakfast was of a good standard, had a good choice, used some local products and certainly filled us up!
If you are interested in staying here, they also have a good website www.thebeechesbuxtonnorfolk.co.uk and, at £65 for the two of us (single is priced at £45) we felt was good value. It isn’t quite a five star and not really close to anywhere but, for everything that is offered, we certainly recommend it as a good 4 star and would be happy to stay again. A relaxing and enjoyable stay with friendly hosts.

On arrival at the b&b, Steve greeted us and could not have made us feel more welcome. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and was full of quaint features, like low ceilings, and a little winding staircase. Our bedroom was large, very clean, with beautiful bedlinen, and there was a separate huge bathroom, which was right next to the room. This was no way a problem as there was a long hall separating the other guest room at the far end of the cottage, and a guest lounge in the middle, stocked with plenty of books and information about the local area. Breakfast was wonderful, and plenty of it!!!!! The Beeches has beautiful gardens outside the the front of the property, overlooking fields with shire horses. Jo and Steve very kindly offered us fresh tea and coffee whilst we relaxed outside reading, and also the key to their own summerhouse, which was very thoughtful. We run our own business so wanted a really relaxing break, and we could have not asked for more. Jo and Steve made us feel so welcome into their home and went above and beyond with their hospitality. If we need another relaxing break next year, then we will definitely be returning to the Beeches. Thank you Jo and Steve
