We found the cottage to have everything that we needed for a weeks stay. Sited on the main road through Bellingham with plenty of car parking spaces close by. The cottage is comfortable and quiet, great view from the back window across acres of farm land and a caravan park in the distance. The living room is upstairs and bedrooms are downstairs with the bathroom. BT television and WIFI worked well without any problems. Plenty of cutlery, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, etc.
Across the road is the Cheviot Hotel which serves a good selection of cask ales and food (biggest fish and chips that we have ever seen). At the end of the terrace there is a butchers on one end and a chemists on the other end. There is a chinese take-away, bakers and Co-operative store less than 100 metres away. The Rose and Crown pub is round the corner and the Black Bull Hotel nearby.
We would recommend Kielder Water Birds of Prey but try and get there for the flying demonstration, it is brilliant. Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum are well worth a visit. Wallington (National Trust) is essential, especially the walled garden. Further afield, try the Beamish Open Air museum and Souter Lighthouse near Sunderland. For shopping trips, go to the Gateshead MetroCentre and visit the Angel of the North nearby, great photo-opportunity.
Finally, enjoy the roads to Newcastle/Gateshead, like being on the Big Dipper in Blackpool!
My husband & I stayed here for 9 nights as we were between houses. The home had everything that we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. Very clean and homely. The host, Jennifer was great! Nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend Castlehill View as a place to stay
Thanks for helping us out when the Bunkhouse was double booked.(we were the Bikers)
Lovely set up, clean tidy and comfortable.
Only a stones throw from all the amenities including the Cheviot pub.
Would us again as a base for touring.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Bellingham. This is an ideal location for touring Northumberland. The cottage is very nice and well equipped.I particularly liked the fact the living room was upstairs giving a lovely view of the surrounding area. The milk and wine was a very nice welcoming touch.Would definitely come again
Everything in this cottage was verry good, except the 2 person bed downstairs. The mattress of this bed needs urgent replacement.
