Have returned from yet another great stay here. Nothing is too much trouble for the friendly staff. This time we stayed in the main house with views over the river. Room had everthing we needed... large comfortable bed , tea and coffee facilities, good central heating . If you are looking for relaxation and good but unobtrusive service. no mobile service . but wifi connection, excellent food then you must give it a try. We have stayed here to celebrate big birthdays and New Years Eve over a 10 year period and we will continue to do so . Well done and thanks for a great stay.

We had our Wedding here in June 2012 and couldn't recommend a better place. The staff were all so friendly and would bend over backwards to help in any way possible to make our day special and helped with the needs of any "awkward" guests with the same attitude. We decided to stay for a night in November 2011 to see what the hotel was like and had a superb time. The food was amazing (worth the travel from Cambridge!!!) and very fairly priced with a good selection of both food and drink. The breakfast was just as good with local delicacies. We will definitely go back again and would recommend to all our friends and family for a nice and relaxing break in the countryside.

Staying in Bellingham on a self catering basis, we thought that we should give the local country house hotel a try. A short walk out of the town / village, this is a hotel that is probably a bit dated. The staff were friendly. The customers ranged from a very loud small group to a large party of men clearly staying there on business on a long-term basis. We had heard that the food was the best in town. Sorry - but The Cheviot, also a hotel in the town, has that distinction. The Riverdale lacks the character and atmosphere that it should have. The décor is a bit tired, the lounge was overcrowded with chairs and tables and poorly lit. The restaurant was trying hard, but failing to have an interesting atmosphere. The food was unexciting. I was disappointed.

Took advantage of a KGB offer to try a new hotel for our annual post Christmas family reunion of eight adults. Our requirements - good food, log fire, bar, comfy beds, a good night's sleep, scenic area with local walks to work up an appetite, and welcoming, courteous staff. Congratulations in order, Riverdale Hall met all our requirements. Thank you so much on behalf of all our party.

This was our fourth stay here over the New Year, 4 days and nights of well spent time. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff, food excellent from the Grouse, chicken, steaks, fish, and soup to die for. All six of us have had a great time and New Year's Eve itself was great value for money . As a disabled wheel chair user it was nice to find access was not a problem for me, bedroom with enough space to roam around and bathroom with walk in shower excellent. Visiting local area was also direct from this hotel and will certainly be back in the future.

This hotel is in a great setting near Keild Water, and on the banks of the Tyne River. The food is brilliant and the staff very atentive Thier is a swmming pool and the bedrooms are all of a good size. Their are lots of walks in the area and one of the best value for money golf courses in the area very near by. I can not stress enough how good the food is.

Stayed two night midweek with dogs in large room overlooking cricket pitch. Room was clean and spacious, great for getting out with the dogs for a quick run. Super food and staff were very helpful. Can recommend the rather splendid dessert wine. Great place to go for walks with dogs. Good value and will return.
