The lodge was clean and spotless,we were so impressed by the size and lay out of the lodge the phots do not do it justice, this break was sadly a week after a bereavement, and our peaceful relaxing stay helped so much, thank you for allowing my dogs to stay hope we left it spotless for Tanya who we met on our arrival.

“DISAPPOINTED”
Reviewed May 8, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We were disappointed with the lodge for many reasons. Firstly the description given was of a private lawned garden. This was actually shared with the adjoining lodge and it and the balcony were open to the access road which was a concern for us and our two dogs. We could not let them run free but had to be with them at all times.
The lodge did not have a hairdryer, razor point and there is absolutely NO internet connection or phone. You have to supply your own towels and before departure, strip the beds!
The shower is very claustrophobic and the bath does not feel fully supported.
The sink draining board vent was full of gunge and we had to use Cillit bang but with little success.
Cutlery, crockery, oven and cooker could all do with deep cleaning or better still, replaced.
The lodge looks like it is very secluded but there are another 5 or 6 lodges within close proximity.
Having read other 'rave' revues we expected better.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.
We do have a privately owned lawned garden. It is not shared with the neighbouring lodge. However it is not fenced off or enclosed. We are sorry that it did not meet your or your dogs needs. We have however taken your suggestion seriously and are in the process of adding a "gate" to our decking area. This will hopefully address some of these issues.
You are correct in that we do not have razor point, nor do we supply a hairdryer. There is now good 4G mobile phone signal, most people book our lodge for peaceful relaxation in a rural environment and thus we have neither installed a land line or wi-fi.
I am sorry that you found the shower claustrophobic, the bath is fully supported and has provided faithful service for several years.
Our trusted cleaner takes great pride in preparing the lodge to a high standard. We are all sorry that the draining board vent had become blocked and that this had not been picked up. Some hot water from the kettle has unblocked this easily. The crockery, oven etc are always cleaned at each handover. We are sorry that you felt these were not up to standard.
Finally, as described on TripAdvisor, Screel lodge is one of ten lodges built on the hillside above the golf course. The land was previously used as a deer farm. We have not given any indication that Screel Lodge is "very secluded" or isolated. But it is in an exceptionally picturesque location with lovely unobstructed views and access to the surrounding countryside, forest, golf course and distant hills.

Really enjoying my Stay here, the view is incredible! The lodge is well furnished and has everything we needed! Sleeps 4 very comfortably and would definitely Sleep 6 comfortably too, it's only a five minute walk to the beach which is stunning! The dog loved it too and was very happy! Would highly recommend! Would visit again!

“Fantastic lodge”
Reviewed March 22, 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Really love it here, everything catered for. IT'S pouring outside but we are all cosy and warm. Its a large 3 bed lodge with a home from home feel. The only coplaint is that there is no internet and had to buy a weeks with fi with emergency calls only the signal is poor. Its a shame because it would otherwise be perfect.would still come again

Thank you for reviewing Screel Lodge . We are delighted you enjoyed staying at the lodge and do note your comment about wifi. For most guests this is not a problem as they enjoy ' being away from it all' but we will consider looking into this option in future.
Best wishes

Thank you for your review. The area is so rural that sometimes mobile coverage can be patchy. However it usually will work somewhere in the lodge. We continually update and maintain the lodge and thank you for your suggestions .
